Can Clickers see?
Hi all,

I'm really bad at this game and I need some help. Weren't you told in the game that Clickers can't see you, but they can hear you?

I died already quite often while i was quiet as much as i can but than it seems they saw me and i died.

Clickers can't see you, but if you're using a keyboard i'm not sure how ND translated the stealth mechanic to a digital device because even crouched if you walk at full speed clickers will hear you.

Clickers are blind, but when they emit that yell (not the clicking itself) it pretty much means that they know where you are if you’re close to them. They have echolocation now, that's how they see.

I don't remember if this was in the original game i think it's something that was from the second game but is now in the remake as well since it's based on it but i could be wrong.

Correct, If you're near them you have to use ctrl to be more silent while crouching.

Having beaten the game on grounded difficulty (first ever playthrough of the game having never played it before), you have to really use your wits and be smart and tactical about your approach on every encounter.

I used a controller and you barely push the left stick a few mm to slow move when crouching to sneak past clickers. You can also use the brick or bottle to throw at a place to distract them. This will only give you some respite and you have to move quickly as they will resume their usual patrol path again.

Nah, this was 100% in the first game.

See why controllers for 3rd person games, especially like this are so useful. No need to have your fingers twistered around the keyboard just to walk at a certain pace.

When you are playing on a PC, you can press STRG / CTRL while moving. You will move quite slower. Also take care that there is no trash or glass on the floor. Thats what they hear too.

Move slow around clickers, if you're shooting them make your shots count, best way to kill them if there's more than one around is to shiv them, if you don't yet have shivs you can beat them with a stick or pipe, Shivs are your fried though throughout the game, but no they can't see like normal enemies, however once you make noise they'll be on you like publishers on an unfinished port.

On grounded you cannot afford to waste shivs... you get to pick up only 3 shivs in the entire game and have to craft the rest with the tape and blades. If you want to unlock all 13 doors in one playthrough better be smart about dealing with clickers without resorting to killing or alerting them.

Yeah i'm guessing the OP isn't playing on Grounded given the context of him claiming to be bad at the game and dying a lot, that could explain it though :D

Thank you guys for your responds.

I'm switching quiet a lot between controller and mouse for obvious reasons.

You are right. Since this is my first playthrough, I'm playing on normal(?) or one above difficulty. Mainly because the MK controls feel bad, I don't plan on challenging the game (yet). At this point it's pretty easy and only the clicker issue is pretty annoying, but since I know this was included in the base game already and they can locate me through echolocation, it will feel much less annoying and I can work on it.

At the time of the post, I was just a bit post meeting Bill with the section with all the clickers (after you jump out of church) and the section at school which finally drove me crazy because it felt so random 😅
