Are you using controller or mouse and keyboard?
And what's your experience been like? Just trying to see what everyone is preferring.

Controller, besides the current mouse stuttering issues, it just feels too easy with mouse aim. I also played a ton of the PS4 Remaster so I'm just used to it, and of course the game was designed around it.

ND wanted us to have "a world-class player experience with mouse and keyboard"

Playstation 4 with Gyro aim works good with Standart bluetooth of my motherboard. No need for a extra dongle just connected and it works. I just use DS4Windows to Set some Other stuff but Overall the game alone is good optimized for gamepad what I cant say for the Performance

They might've oversold it a little bit

But idiots like me simply cannot aim for the love of all that is good with a controller :'(

LOL I suck at aiming with a controller as well but I played TLOU with a controller and had a great experience. This game is a little more "forgiving" than some other games.

Not for me. I'm so bad that when I played with my flat mates on PS4 when it was first released I could only do puzzles (as basic as they are) and walking stuff and was the best at sneaking & merc'ing peeps from behind. I could do bow and arrow later on if I had sneaked well and had enough time to do the left-a-bit, right-a-bit dance with the thumb stick. Honestly, I am god awful with a controller!

Mouse and keyboard. Done 3 playthroughs already. Settings and options for them are good and quite extensive, other then having raw mouse input on, lowering the sensitivity and turning off any kind of camera/aim assist I think am still on default keybinds.
How do you make it to where you can play mouse + keyboard? When I try it says that I should use a controller and I don’t know how to fix that

Controller of course. Couldn't imagine using mouse and keyboard for shooting, that'd just be weird!

It's mostly a matter of personal preference. If you are sitting on the couch and are a causal gamer, then it makes sense to use a controller for shooter games.

Personally, I couldn't imaging playing a game that actually snaps to the target for me and assists me with aiming. It just seems to me that if the game has to do that for you, then there are problems with the combat system. So it's mouse and gameboard all the way for me.

As a side note, many people are saying they don't like the mouse due to mouse stuttering (or any stuttering really) issues of some kind. The reason you are getting that is, because your PC, GPU and game configurations/settings are not optimal. The aiming is smooth and accurate.

Works great for me either way too. I gotta go with the majority of playing this game with a controller though. It feels weird to play it on mouse and keyboard. Like playing GTAV and switching between both or something. I suppose part of it is that I actually bought and played it on PS3 when it came out too.

Ya if you got mouse chop, it's either texture micro caching or something is wonky with your vsync settings. Honestly I haven't experienced mouse chop in game since I got a GSYNC monitor 2 years back. Most of my experience with anything chop related like that over the last 25 years is due to vsync.

^ I think a lot of mouse problems are caused by acceleration (enhance pointer precision) in the OS, mouse programmable software (which also has acceleration settings sometimes) and in the in game settings too, or even worse when it's enabled in all three.

I am at my second playthrough on PC. First time after release there was many technical issues with M+K and i switched to controller halfway through the game.

But now i have any problems with M+K and it´s works fine. And it is way more fun.

Why would you ever play a game that requires you to aim, or move the camera yourself, with something as horrifically inaccurate and awful to use as a controller. That's why aim assist and camera assist options exist - because controllers are soo terrible.

The game was conceived with the limitations of a controller in mind. It actually does a fair job at simulating the difficulty of aiming in the heat of battle, something you don't really get with the extreme precision of mouse aiming. You actually have to take the time to line up shots, and enemies will also occasionally miss, giving the whole experience an air of desperation. It also makes missing shots more likely, forcing you to come up with improvisational solutions using the myriad of other tools at your disposal. You lose a lot of that when you switch to mouse and keyboard, and the third person camera already compensates for the difficulty of using an analogue stick.

In short, the game is more interesting when you limit yourself to using a controller, and I say this as a skilled mouse + keyboard user.

^^ Agreed. I'm a keyboard/mouse user and I loved the controller feel in this game. It really felt authentic in that it was trying to convey the difficulty of aiming while in a panic.
