No it doesn't. Am running this game native since release, never even used those.
@YoLo69 below white line.
Yeah this isn't true, it has nothing to do with DLSS or FSR2.. its a rendering issue, likely to do with the busted shader cache.
Yeah and it happens 100% random. Weird.
Hair bug seemed fixed the last two times I played and finished the game, but I'd call that luck rather than it being a genuine fix.. anyone considering getting this game should wait a few more weeks/months for proper patches.
Was still having this happen with broken trees and weapon scopes also broken - chapter reloads have been working for me better than game restarts, minus the irl time lost ofc
Having the same issue, getting terrible textures over the last couple of days after a crash. I've been experiencing the hair/eye brow bug, blocky textures (mainly on trees) and the black texture bug on the floor and arrow fletchings. Tonight I also noticed that I could no longer see through the scopes at all either, not great when trying to pick people off in a fire fight at distance.
To be honest, I'm just amazed that I just now was able to complete the game, with the amount of crashes and bugs I have experienced with this game.
I'm really glad that some people have not experienced a single issue with this game from the start or after a certain patch, but for the many of us that are still experiencing major issues, it's really tarnishing a great game that I had waited over a decade to play.
And before the sarcastic comments come, no I don't need to upgrade my computer I have everything set to high or ultra at 4k and changing every setting from ultra to low, on or off doesn't make a difference.
UPDATE - WARNING:
Be careful of using the chapter menu to replay a level. I've just used it near the beginning of the game to pick up one of two missing comics I missed during my play through. However, after collecting it & going to the chapter menu again to go to the next level, I noticed that all of my other completed chapters til endgame were missing. Luckily I had a recent autosave of the end of the game that got all of the chapters and choice of 'New Game +' back. A really dangerous bug if you want to replay a level.
Restarting game/pc does not work. I have also tried verifying the files/recompiling the shaders twice. I have not tried restarting a chapter though.
Its frustrating, since I am at the end of the Pittsburgh chapter and everything on the ground is a big black texture, all cinematics with the new companions are with blocky textures and the scope is black.
At least I dont have any other (major) performance issue with everything on High and DLSS on Quality.
I want to go back and get the last comic I missed but I am nervous I'll loose all of my progress like I did last night. It's only because the comic was right at the beginning of a level I still had a autosave of the completed game I could load up.
Also, if anybody from Naughty Dog and co. does actually read these posts......
Please for the love of god fix the arrow binding issue, I'm starting to get fed up having to use third party software all the time.
UPDATE:
Just picked up the last comic and once again I lost all of my progress (chapter list won't show any further levels from the level you replayed). Thank god both comics were at the start of the level or I wouldn't have the aoutosave of the complete game. I believe Uncharted had the same bug so god knows how they have the same issue in this one and not know about it.
Am highly guessing compiling shaders brake somehow existing ones. Verifying files does not find issues, and neither it fixes it after rebuilding the shaders after.
I will try to nuke the game shaders and nvidia shaders tonight if it helps at all, at least compiling is fast now...
tldr broken hair textures and black scopes are back
