Hair render bug
I cannot believe how awful the hair looks in this now, it will not render properly, regardless of restarts - any real fix for this?

Was still having this happen with broken trees and weapon scopes also broken - chapter reloads have been working for me better than game restarts, minus the irl time lost ofc

Having the same issue, getting terrible textures over the last couple of days after a crash. I've been experiencing the hair/eye brow bug, blocky textures (mainly on trees) and the black texture bug on the floor and arrow fletchings. Tonight I also noticed that I could no longer see through the scopes at all either, not great when trying to pick people off in a fire fight at distance.

To be honest, I'm just amazed that I just now was able to complete the game, with the amount of crashes and bugs I have experienced with this game.

I'm really glad that some people have not experienced a single issue with this game from the start or after a certain patch, but for the many of us that are still experiencing major issues, it's really tarnishing a great game that I had waited over a decade to play.

And before the sarcastic comments come, no I don't need to upgrade my computer I have everything set to high or ultra at 4k and changing every setting from ultra to low, on or off doesn't make a difference.

UPDATE - WARNING:

Be careful of using the chapter menu to replay a level. I've just used it near the beginning of the game to pick up one of two missing comics I missed during my play through. However, after collecting it & going to the chapter menu again to go to the next level, I noticed that all of my other completed chapters til endgame were missing. Luckily I had a recent autosave of the end of the game that got all of the chapters and choice of 'New Game +' back. A really dangerous bug if you want to replay a level.

Looking trough discussions your best option is waiting 1-2 more months for patches

Imagine if they had delayed it for the 1-2 months it clearly needed to fix these issues eh?

Lost a ton of confidence in Sony's PS ports after this & Uncharted, really really poor stuff

This comes from the current trend of wanting to make a lot of money quickly in a relatively short period of time! Someone from the first generation of TLOU thought, let's make a film of the story quickly and said next to him: "Great, then we can create another boom on the PC with the PS version." No sooner said than done. It's just that putting the PS framework on a PC version doesn't happen overnight. But the timing of the "boom" and making a hype out of it is limited. So what's left but to limit the damage with some hotfixes?! A shame for all those who have become unfaithful to this genre!!!

Yes I had those almost every time I play. It was happening while launching the game and getting to the main menu and/or pressing continue, or after some random time period playing. The only solution is to Quit to Desktop and start again.

Since 1.2.00 I have not experienced it yet though (so I think it is fixed). On what version are you playing? And also if you have nvidia gpu, what driver version are you using?

All updated, drivers on the Nvidia hotfix that came out the other day. Using a RTX 3060ti btw.

After launching it around 6 times it now seems to have fixed itself? So honestly God knows what is wrong, I suspect the next time I launch it, it will be broken again.

Also noticed that the rifle scope wouldn't work, just a black screen when I scoped in.

Yes, the exactly same thing. I reported it to ND the last week. But like I said It is ok now for me on 1.20.00 so if you are saying it still exist might be real lucky 2 days in a row.

Ellie's hair is so shiny no matter what the elements, it's like she's been drinking copious amounts of Pantene Pro-V!

It's happening very often. You can notice it fast when you enter the game. In fact when the hair render is "broken" is also broken the reflections, windows, and many objects. So when you see the hair rendering bad restart the game (some times it takes to do it 5 times in order to fix it...) And sometimes i fix it restarting the computer and entering the game again. Try it!

Just asking as I didn't see this with my friend computer: Do you have graphics grabbing more VRAM than available, or equal/below?

This happens when using DLSS or FSR2. Without scaling technologies, everything is fine. Tested on RTX3070Ti:td_Mask:

May be, but if you don't use those technologies with a 3070ti (my case too), the game is unplayable unless you're good with the horrible AA the game has prebuilt or the horrible FPS. Too demanding without those technologies.
