Noisy textures and hair
As title says. It looks really bad and out of place and annoying af. Anyone knows a fix for this? Or is this graphics related? The water looks the worst when i move the camera.

Welcome to modern gaming where we haven't been able to render hair properly with anti-aliasing.

I had a similar problem in Hogwarts but this looks way worse than that.

Try flipping textures to high and geometry to ultra. There's some optimization issues still needed on ultra settings.

I flipped to Ultra Preset got near same performance with slight hitching with the 1.0.2 patch as if I was on old settings. Turned down 2 settings down from ultra (texture filtering and sampling to High) and got my 4k high plus a few ultra settings performance. Visually looks better, but yea, AA sucks ass in most cases in any game.
You etiher get a jagged line or a blurry line.

the noise is from the sampling algorithm for the shadows. this is not AA related.

the screenspace reflections are defo broken. not sure what's wrong there. seems like a bogus fresnel term. they dissappear at angles where they could still be visible. i noticed that in the lake in front of the townhall too.

SSR is broken atm (I run with it off cause I can't stand how they look atm) and the hair stuff is related to the Screen Space Cone Tracing. You can turn that off to 'fix' that.

AA tends to make these issues worse though since you got these jagged edges, and AA tries to fix them. Usually getting blurry, but like I said can also get more jagged. I tend to disable TAA when it's on by default. Never liked how it works. Especially when upscaling with DLSS or FSR.

ssr will always be broken, tbh. if you have a character in front of the reflection you get the smearing artefacts of the silhouettes. nasty. i usually shut it down. this game does decent tho covering it up. limited angles and small regions of reflectiveness. for big stuff i'd love me some raytracing for that. unreal does it really good, but that's a whole differerent beast to implement on the ps5. all the volume data and stuff.

bad comparison. this old game doesn't use nearly as much hair geometry.

either way... transparency is a b!tch. you can't blend it without sorting artefacts. it's gotta be tested. if you alpha to coverage you get noise. yes

I thought it was just me, but after this update I noticed it and thought WTF. I didn't see it on my first playthrough.

Looks like FSR. Try FSR off or at least higher quality.
