Can't open university gate with generator

You have to open the university gate via the generator. So you have to plug in the cable into it. I brought the gen in position but if i want to use the cable to connect it won't work. He doesn't pick it up.

you need to push the generator against the wall and he'll grab the cable automatically. i think it just needs to be a very specific position lol i got annoyed at it too

I had the same issue. I reloaded my checkpoint and that made the issue go away

yep push it flat right up against wall under the cable otherwise nothing will happen. Cable plug in is automatic once generator in the right spot.

haha... that is the most confused spot in the game. Let the player grab the cable in case generator around may be better design.

There's an accessibility option to skip all puzzles if you hate this part.

It's much like the issue that has been with us since 2013, the one where you have to crouch, stand up, crouch again, move the camera angle, sacrifice a live chicken to be able to pick up that last item in that pesky locker you just opened.

Not a huge deal, but unnecessarily annoying. I still love the game, though.

Thanks. I was pushing the generator around, I thought Joel would eventually grab the cable when it was near enough... I didn't think of pushing it against the wall. I was starting to feel pretty frustrated.
