Game will not launch 4070ti / support needed
Had a 3060ti. Updated drivers, 32gb ryzen 5800x. Game would crash and not launch.

I got a 4070ti, Game still will not launch. It instantly crashes when I hit play. I have verified game files, Installed it on NVME, downloaded the hot fix, not running overclock, overlays, reinstalled 3 times. What the heck do I do? Seems like nobody else having an instant crash issue to where the game doesn't even load.

I'm finding there is all kinds of varied gpus having the same issue. I'm on an rtx 2080 with a 3900x and 32 gb ram running on a nvme ssd. My ssd is gen3, so I'm wondering if that might be the factor? Is yours a pci-e gen 4 nvme or gen 3? I'm considering buying a 1tb with similar speeds to the ps5 for a decent price right now.

Might as well see what happens tomorrow (Friday) with new patch supposed to be coming out.

4070 ti here on i7 9700KF 16GB DDR4 and game runs almost perfectly (aside shader compilation every time after game is updated or nvidia releases new drivers

maybe in your case should be a ryzen problem?

Did you try ddu? display driver uninstaller. I'd try that, to remove any left overs of old drivers and re install the 4070 ti drivers.

Didn't work

No idea what the problem would be. Try a windows reinstall? You should be able to "clean install" drivers as an option with both Nvidia and AMD during the install process without going through all the driver remover nonsense. I've never had to use that program. Your system is more than capable.

that won't remove anything even on clean install, there are still residual entries in the registry files needs to be cleaned as well. DDU is the best for it and also do it on Windows Safe Mode to make sure it is done without issues.

gen 5

Your CPU only supports up to gen 4 speeds so that was a waste of money.

Well I have managed to fix my game not launching by taking out an additional 1070 gpu i had in my rig that i use for 3d rendering. It is never been a problem before for running AAA games, but apparently it is now. So my theory is that it is having an issue with knowing which gpu to load from, even if its just an integrated cpu one! Not sure how to make it brute force to the obvious gpu that you want though! Luckily my CPU doesn't have integrated graphics, so once i removed my other GPU it only had the one option! I have it locked at 60fps, medium ish settings in 2k and its stable on the fps but still plays a little rough. Better than nothing and definitely bareable for now at least!

After upgrading your GPU, did you do a CLEAN install of the drivers? If not, reinstall them but choose the 'clean install' option. You'll find that will help.

Verify in Windows Event Viewer under System for any errors and warnings around the timestamp of the game crash. This will help isolate whether the issue is driver related, hardware related, system optimization related, or game related. The latter will not really show anything of meaningful values in the Event Viewer and will indicate you're having one of the known issue crashes the game has.

Also with the 4070 GPU, make sure you try with and without the 531.XX hotfix driver.
