The RE4 and Dead Space remakes run rings around this zombie themed loading sim.
I think the environments are extremely well crafted (at least the areas where you're supposed to go through), and haven't noticed any repetition at all in the 4-ish hours I've been playing. Enemies are pretty derpy, I'm not the biggest fan of the stealth sections, and the controls don't really work that well when you're being swarmed (I'm specifically thinking of the section I just went through after you leave the bar with Bill), but on the other hand the setpieces like when Joel sprung the fridge trap, or the first fights with Tess back at the beginning of the game were pretty cool with her helping you take down enemies or ambushing them. I also think the combat animations and such are very well done, and when things get chaotic they're very fun.
I also appreciate the quiet moments where you can explore around and get into side areas for extra conversations, though spending more time than I should making sure I get all the duct tape stretches them more than I'd like to.
Overall though, I had my doubts if this would be worth it for me full price, but I'm not regretting my purchase. But if you don't appreciate these aspects, then you might probably think that "this game is yuck" like you just posted on a different thread I guess.
im already bored of it, to be honest.
Sure thing. they'll use their psychic internet powers to know whether or not you'll like a game "later on" that you've already said you don't like.
Well there are a lot of great titles that take a while to get going.... ? It's a discussion forum, f*ck me for wanting to have a discussion amirite
the story is the main thing about the game that is critically acclaimed, but if you don’t want to force yourself to continue playing just to experience the story, then obviously don’t
I at least enjoy the game for what it is, just as I enjoyed the RE4 original back then and the RE4 Remake today. I enjoy the growing relationship between Joel and Ellie and the scenery is still beautiful, even though the game is 10 years old. Stealth is an intended part of the game, and if that's not someone's cup of tea, it doesn't make the game bad.
