Missing items after picking them up

This happened a few times in the main game and seems worse in the DLC. I'll pick up items, like a rag or scissors, and then check my inventory and nothing's there.

The items will have a little wheel, that show how much they will fill when you pick them up. Only when you fill them you get 1 portion of the item. You are not missing anything no need to worry :)

not sure if you already know but picking up items wont actually reflect as a complete item. Items are split in quarters i think, so everytime you pick up something it will fill like 1/4 or something like that. Once you pick up enough parts it will turn into a complete item.

Oh, so you cannot make a single shiv out of pair scissors? This is like 100th incredibly stupid thing about this game (but I still love it xD). What's next? Collect 10 rolls of toilet paper to wipe your ass once? :D
