How do I move sideways in the weapon cross menu?
mouse wheel up and down goes between throwable and medkit.. but the gun is on the right side of the cross.

Unless there's a way scroll a mouse sideways that I haven't heard of, it seems the weapon is inaccessible via the weapon wheel thing.

So why even have the gun in the weapon wheel?

There are several ways:
- numeric keypad (this acts like the 'dialpad' on your console controller) check numberlock.
- numbers across the top, (1..4 act as direct access to your firearms)
- 'q' key (cycles through the firearms - 1..4)

You can choose the weapons you put in the holsters(once you upgrade them).

I already know how to do it that way. (numeric keypad is a silly suggestion. you realize... what a keyboard and a mouse look like right?)

anyway, i know i can just tap 3 to switch to the gun. but why is the gun in the weapon wheel if you can't access it via the weapon wheel?

or if there is a way, what is it?

The numeric keypad allows an 'intuitive' way to access the Medipak and Throwables.
The '4' and '6' act as the left(longgun) and right(handgun). << tapping the key again accesses the secondary long-gun/handgun.

When you make 'holsters for the handgun and loggun, you can "quick access" 2x longguns and 2x handguns without kneeling for the backpack.
  • so while '3' is indeed the handgun, '4' is the extra handgun.
  • likewise '2' will be the longgun and '1' will be the 'extra longgun' (when you build the holster)

The numeric keypad simulates an intuitive 'D-Pad' on the console controller.
While the Numbers across the top, provide convenient access for 'WASD' users.

I'm not sure if you've really thought about what that would entail for a player.

My left hand is on WASD and my right hand is on the mouse.

So which hand is lifting up from its main control area and moving over to the right side of the keyboard to use the numpad?

And I'd still like someone to answer my original question. If I scroll on the mouse it brings up the weapon cross. From that interface, how do you go sideways to weapons?

I see what you mean.. yeah it's not optimal ... not having a third hand. I'm just saying it's there.
Alternatively, you could use the numbers across the top for firearms and the mouse-wheel for utilities.
and IIRC, once the weapons cross comes up, you can move the mouse to each weapon?

As to your Original Question:
"Options" >> "Controls" >> "Mouse & Keyboard"("Weapon Cross Scroll") :: "ALL ITEMS"
But this takes longer to scroll through the options

I'm sorry if i misunderstood your question but here is how to make the wheel button on weapons instead of throwables.

Go to:
(OPTIONS) Then scroll down to (KEYBOARD & MOUSE) Section, then the first option (WEAPON CROSS SCROLL) choose (WEAPONS ONLY).

I see. That would make health kits and throwables not accessible via weapon wheel then.

So I guess I'll use the #'s right above WASD for weapon selection.

Oh I might try all items.

For the time being the '3' and '4' keys have been fine for weapons.

It's not a big deal in the long run. Just replaying this because I just watched the show

Overall the remake is beautiful (probably cuz I have really high end hardware) and plays great. This was my only nitpick.
