It’s surprising how many people don’t know that shader building is very CPU intensive and that it’s normal to show 100% usage while the process is taking place. Agreed though, how someone’s fans act during the process is completely dependent on the PC in question and the factors you mentioned.
Honestly the game seems fine to me at this point.
This is the truth. The hardware required to run it at 60 frames is ungodly inefficient.
We should running a 10 year old game without spending $1000+.
It's really not that bad, my 3050ti 4gb can almost manage 60fps at 1080p. You should check out starfield's performance, it makes TLOU look optimized. And stop with the "10 year old game" stuff. You can't expect a remake to run like the original would have if it had been ported. I am not saying TLOUP1 is perfect, it still has issues for sure but it's much improved. Most of the people who are having issues still are from insufficient CPUs, but also 4000 series cards seem to have an unusually high amount of issues with this game (even top tier PCs with 13900k and the fastest DDR5).
Don’t be a sympathizer for crappy optimization.
That being said, this game does have Amazing particle and lighting effects. I can see why it’s taxing. It still should not be this bad when we shut those things off/down.
