If so many people consider this a "remaster"...
... then why do the pre-rendered cutscenes (PRE-RENDERED!) from PS4 Remaster look different to Part I?

Yeah, they used pre-rendered cutscenes in the original PS3-version and even in the PS4-remaster, but there they just upscaled them.

Yet... THIS, does not come from upscaling previously used pre-rendered cutscenes:

This is a remake. Not a remaster.

Tell that to people like Alyx... Who continuely makes a fool out of himself on this hub by stating it is a remaster and quarreling with people who tell him otherwise.

Some people believe any game that for the most part plays the same as the original is a remaster even if they replaced every single model and texture in game. There is a goon over on the Resident Evil 4 forums claiming the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 1 is a remaster.

it's a all out remake and a damn good one.

It's a remake for the PS5, common knowledge

Thanks.

I just wish people would stop calling this game a "10 year old game" or "remaster".
It may be a bait, but what gives making a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of oneself by saying that?
Because it's a 70 dollar retexture of a 12 year old game. Yes it's TECHNICALLY a remake, yes the lighting is pretty, but there is not a SINGLE gameplay difference, not ONE "oh but fancy animations when u upgrade the gun!" This game is worth 40 at best, it's a well made remake, but the game is 12 years old, they didn't even redo MOTION CAPTURE, no extra lines, they didn't add any of the mechanics from last of us 2, it's the same game i played 12 years ago on my ps3, then again 10 years ago on my ps4.

I think it was also aimed primarily at the PC as a remake. It has even better quality textures than TLOU Part 2 (which is a remaster). I never played the game before it came to PC. I would simply guess that people who never played it before (primarily PC or new PS 5 buyers) were the targeted audience and the same is true for the TLOU 2 remaster. I believe they wanted to give new players the original gameplay experience (that is a valid design decision) with updated graphics as much as possible and this they fully delivered.

All reviews of this game mention that it has the same gameplay as the 10 year old version I believe. So, just do not buy it if you cannot get anything new out of it and the updated graphics do not justify the price for you :).

For me and many other new players it was well worth full price.

Btw. you cannot make a full remake for PC/PS5 for less than full price. You remake a game, aka develpop it again more or less from scratch (with a few shortcuts). Selling for meaningfully less would be a very dumb financial decision, like selling at a loss :).

This is a glorified remaster.
