Any Xeon owners out there?
The reviews are scaring me, but my internet is extremely slow and I won't be able to play for weeks. I have two Xeon rigs, I can put a Xeon E5-2699 V3 (18 core) in my gaming PC as it's currently in my server but on my gaming rig I have a Xeon E5-2685 V3 (12 core) at the moment.

The farthest I would go is maybe buying a Xeon E5-2699 V4 (22 core) for an upgrade but I'm not going to buy a whole new computer just to play this one game. If there are THIS MANY problems on actual gaming CPUs I don't want to be the guinea pig that finds out in a couple weeks that I am the first person to ever try gaming on a Xeon.

Oh and I have a GeForce 1080 Ti in the gaming PC, currently 64GB DDR4 but it can go way higher in the RAM department. I can basically throw any game I want at the machines but if it's completely untested "Batman Arkham Knight"-style then I may want to pick up a different game.

This game at its current state is both CPU and GPU bound. It likes newer architecture cpus with higher clock speeds over a lot of cores. You would want more single threaded performance. It may run fine, but you will probably have performance issues at the games current state.

Those xeons have good multi threaded performance, but not so good single threaded performance for CPU demanding games.

Sons of the Forest is the same way, it likes newer architecture CPUS with Higher clock speeds. More cores does not mean better for these types of games, as long as you have a High clocked 8 core CPU.
