If a CPU overheats at 100% load, the cooling solution is insufficient. The solution to that is either to get a better CPU cooler, or undervolt the CPU.
CPU at 100% on all 8 cores of my 9700k while playing a video game? Thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuts, and is definitely an issue. Especially in a linear single player game that shouldnt constantly be streaming in new assets and characters. This is a video game, not a stress test. Ive literally never seen a game hammer my CPU as hard as this game. Even Spiderman with all RT effects would only peak at about 80% usage, but never once would I see 8 cores locked at full utilization. It causes massive stuttering, regardless of the actual framerate, and feels choppy as hell to play.
It's not a problem with the gpu temperature (it's at 80°C with high graphics, that is normal). The problem is the temperature of the cpu, but I will buy a water colling and I will update the temperatures that it will have
And how about any neighboring components on your board next to this white-hot CPU? A manufacturer may say something is within spec that's a terrible idea for longevity of your system, and there could be many reasons for this, including they're assumption many enthusiasts will use third-party coolers to get temps down.
I could redline my car through every gear and it would be 'within spec,' that doesn't mean I'm not unnecessarily shortening the life of my hardware and potentially causing other problems. 95 Celsius is too hot, it indicates neighboring hardware on your board without the benefit of heatsinks is probably also overheating.
Its not the users issue its the game optimization thats bad,
Wonder why RE4 remake don't have this issue, that runs smooth and don't crash every 30-60 minutes.
Icarus which is aimed at the top end spec PC market runs on my rig and don't make my cpu run at 100% 100c all the time either so again the game needs optimizing.
Really other games can run smother and more Resolution 4K but is fine cpu 40-60% all the time.
why this game can usage high pc and getting low performance 2K 60fps but use cpu 80-90% Doesn't make sense.
Also Icarus ain't aimed for high end configs when their minspec is what it is.
Normally, it's a good thing when a game utilizes all available cores equally. Cap the game @60 fps and report back.
And is your CPU running "unlocked" in BIOS? You could also try to limit the TDP for PL2 in BIOS to max. 65 Watt (rated TDP fot this CPU).
p.s after shaders going to 100%, max get 81C, all good
I bought the NZXT Kraken X53, now my temperature without doing anything is 33°C and playing The Last of Us is 60 to 70°C depending on the map, also the cpu is no longer at 100% use, at most It is at 70%. That thanks for answering and buy a good heatsink :D
and make sure your case has good ventilation
I don't like to overclock and it has good ventilation, I have to have it because I do renders and 3D modeling for animation or videogames
