What kind of pc is the PS5 equivalent to?
Don’t exactly know. Just curious.

Right around a 2070ti to a vanilla 2080.

Look up PS5.
Read the specs.
There's your answer.

There's no "kinds of PCs". There's PCs. They're very modular, custom and specific.
You're on PC, this is like one of the first things you know about PCs before getting one.

Bruh you high? Digital foundry themselves confirmed the ps5 is most similar to a 2070 super.

With a 3080 and i9 I need to push the graphical settings back to medium so that I don’t exceed the allocated vram even with FSR or DLSS on. Im not sure but I think that the ps5 highest graphical settings for this game are not equivalent to medium on pc but are higher. Also my cpu sounds like it’s working overtime. Not sure what’s going on. Am afraid to even play game thinking my cpu and gpu won’t handle it. I thought 3080 is a good gpu, and I9 cpu.

In theoretical and raw perfomance yes but you need a 3070 onwards to run games "right", thats the hard truth.

Flat out wrong.

Uncharted legacy of thieves is also a ps5 game and I can run everything on ultra not medium settings and at 3840x2160 resolutionWhat gives?

For this game I need to use 1920P medium settings and the vram allocation is still almost exceeded.

This was just a poor quality job done on the port. None of the other many PS ports had this serious of problems.

Wow, I’m afraid to play this game thinking it will destroy my cpu. I can hear it churning.

And even at 1080p I’m almost exceeding my vram usage with a 3080, what is going on?

Your cpu will be max load during shader compilation. Temps won't be any higher than your max temp observed during a stress test like multi core Cinebench r23 for instance. If your cpu temp is too high, then you should improve your cooling.
If 10gb of vram isnt enough for the settings you selected, then turn down settings that use a lot of vram.

Other than that you're going to be waiting for a patch.

Thx. My CPU is actually overheating with no shaders having to compile. It doesn’t do that with Uncharted.

I’ll wait for a patch though yes. Hopefully they fix this soon.

For now I’ll just play at 1080p native hopefully it works.

It is a bad port at launch though. I agree with what most are saying.

The fact I have to play this at 1080p on a 3080 which I’m told is stronger than a ps5 is ridiculous though.

It shouldn't do it ever.

I don't think it comes down to that. Hardware components and how they work together are different in PCs. You can have the best and latest GPU but if your CPU is ♥♥♥♥ or you get bottlenecked, it won't matter much.
The problem is that there are many many hardware configurations when it comes to PC. Whereas when they make a game for PS, they already know what they are counting on and they make their game to specs.

I mean, you hear this nonsense a lot, but in practise it's not like it makes a PS5 or any other console better than the sum of its parts. It literally performs about as well as the parts it has. Meanwhile a PC can adjust settings and have a much smoother experience.\
A PS5 tends to have a 30fps lock when it comes to new titles. Only been 2 years and it's dated.

Gamers Nexus did a PS5 vs PC deep dive, they reckon the PS5 GPU is equivalent to a 1070.
