Yeah, while searching up on controller issues in this forum, I noticed quite a few mentioning movement issues with their controller. But for me that isn't the issue, but just the problem of being able to aim/use the rifle/shotgun with the controller (it's like with these two weapons equipped, the Left Trigger [LT] just doesn't work -- it works fine for other weapons like the handgun/revolver/bow).
Eh, regardless, there looks to be an overall problem going on with controllers and this game, so I might have to 'shelve' it for the time being. And I know I can use mouse/keyboard, but as others have noticed, the mouse movement is a little odd in the game's current state.
The controller I was having issues with was the PowerA Spectra Xbox Enhanced Wired Controller. Per the original post, all aspects of this controller worked fine in-game (like moving, menu navigation, interacting with button prompts, etc.), but holding down the Left Trigger (LT) would not aim the rifle or the shotgun while it worked OK for the handgun, revolver, and the bow.
The controller I swapped to is from the same manufacturer, PowerA, but it's just the Xbox Enhanced Wired Controller and not a Spectra version (which I think just adds LED colors to the controllers). Like the previous controller, all aspects of the controller work fine, but I now can aim the rifle and shotgun by holding the Left Trigger (LT) as well.
All in all, I'm not sure why this worked, considering the Left Trigger (LT) on the problematic controller works fine (as it registers as a working input while calibrating and it works fine in other games), but switching to another variation of the same brand of controller seems to have fixed my aiming issues.
