Disable god awful LENS DIRT effect!
I've never understood this effect. It always looks terrible and ruins immersion. Our eyes are not poor quality camera lens. This game needs a toggle for this garbage stat! With all the great options this game already has I'm surprised this is forced. We could also use a BLOOM toggle as well. I hate having bloom on when I use HDR.

Bumping

Apart from all other huge problems this one is my biggest just because its so easy to put ♥♥♥♥ like this to toggle.

Currently waiting for a toggle to this God awful decision and hoping either the devs or modding community drop a fix soon.

Yeah with being able to disable movie features like film grain it's surprising lens dirt is forced. I couldn't find anything in the config file for it either. Hoping for a mod or official toggle soon
YES id love for a developer to come and explain what that useless sh!t adds to the game

repost:

open the remap.txt file in the game folder. (make a backup for safety)

find "44efafd386549f64 post1/lens-dirt.dds"

replace with "44efafd386549f64 post1/black.dds"

save remap.txt and reload the game.

The feature would make sense if the dirt were obscuring view through panes of poorly maintained or apocalypticly neglected window/car glass. I do agree that it really doesn't have value and if I wanted first person obstruction to my view I wouldn't need graphics altered to do so. I can just pull eyelashes out or dog fur from the floor and shove them back into my eye. I also have an option to put a dab of manuka honey in my eye to blur things while I enjoy a therapeutic healing session.

I just quit the game because this effect was too distracting, hopefully the above fix works. There can't be anybody who wants this, why not just throw a can of coke on your monitor so you have it on all games.

What effect? Lense dirt ? Take a look at the menu and disable your lens dirt. Such madness as in these discussion i've never saw before. Maybe a side effect (not lense dirt) of Covid-19.

I didn't see it in the menu, but I didn't look too hard maybe. You have to agree that it's a terrible decision to have it on by default though. It adds nothing to the game.

This needs to be a toggle in the options along with disabling TAA entirely.

I just tried this and it does in fact get rid of the LENS DIRT effect.

ULTRAWIDE monitor users need to change the lens-dirt-ultrawide.dds to black.dds to get rid of the lens dirt effect > I can confirm this works as I have a 3440x1440 monitor.

Now we just need a solution to DISABLE BLOOM and the game should be finally presentable.
