CPU USAGE

Game uses 100% CPU on an i7-13700k. Needs optimization.

The Minimum and Recommended Specs are false.

Also causes the CPU to run at 88-96c. No issues with Temp on any other titles. This is starting to look like a New World situation where the game may brick some CPUs.

Are you sure the game was not just building the shaders? That ate a lot of my CPU usage, once done it went down to acceptable levels again

I am done with building and have 90+ cpu usage in game, while i can rarely see 100% gpu

I have FPS capped at 60 so I'm not running into CPU/GPU limits, but it does use a lot of CPU even when capped, esp. compared to other games.

I don't understand all the hate about high CPU. Either you can run the game or not. Your CPU won't die running 60-80% even 99% util. Even 80-85 degrees if fine. It's hardware. Use it.

Why the hell does it matter? The machine won't melt down.

I swear, people running $5000 rigs and they get scared when the hardware actually has to do more work than running minesweeper.

Yeah, this game is really hammering the CPU, although some areas are worse than others. But yeah, in some areas, it's almost using 100% of my 12 core Ryzen 5900X. Doesn't seem right. Standing in a small room with nothing going on shouldn't be that demanding on the CPU.

This result in pretty bad stuttering in some areas. My average framerate is decent (75 - 120 FPS), but when the CPU gets hammered, frametimes are all over the place, which means severe stutters. This is really annoying. Hope they can fix it.

You are correct, but with nVidia GPUs relying on CPU a lot for draw calls I can also understand that a CPU at 100% may starve the GPU and cause stutter?

And of course there's lots of folks with crappy coolers. ;)

It's not necessarily bad, but it seem to be combined with high frametime variance and therefore stuttering. That's the issue.

Whats the problem if the game runs well? Or would people prefer game not utilizing cpu properly and running like ♥♥♥♥. And its not secret that intels high end 13gen cpu and ryzen zen 4 cpus run hot wen fully utilized.

Dont play the until the shaders are done. I9 9900k usage between 40 and 70% now with a 3090.
