Are you serious?

Again, and as I said previously, whom exactly are you people to shame others for wanting to have a choice between the two, and furthermore, gatekeep how people should, and should not enjoy their games?

Do y'all at all think before speaking, or are you intent on acting pretentiously obtuse?

You can shout at the wind all day, but it doesn't change the fact that DX12 no longer supports fullscreen exclusive. When you play a DX12 only game, and you choose fullscreen in the setup menu, you are playing borderless fullscreen. Full stop, period.
That's just the way it is now. If it hurts your feelings so badly, just refuse to play any DX12 games for the rest of your life. We'll miss you. 👋
Oh, the irony here is too good.

No you don't, stop lying. 7,900,000,000 people in the world and none of them use fullscreen.
Coming from the one needlessly insulting people, whilst gatekeeping how people should, and should not enjoy their games, you're hardly in any place to be speaking.
But I AM speaking. And I'm right. You don't use fullscreen.

How it connected? Tons of games with DX12 also has fullscreen
no, not a single dx12-specific game has exclusive fullscreen, they all use borderless

What about Shodow of the Tomb Raider ? Assassin's Creed Valhalla? Doom Ethernal? Resident Evil Village? I can use DLDSR in on all of them. Glad i didn't pre order it.

I do, no, you're not. You're shaming people with no justification, nor the authority to do so when you're openly attempting to control how people should, and shouldn't enjoy their games.

Check your arrogance, and perhaps think before speaking down to others.

Last I checked, there wasn't anything wrong with having the choice between the two. Yet here you are, underhandedly shaming people for wanting to have said choice.

I wouldn't be talking.
2023 called, people have mutli-displays.. if you're still using fullscreen exclusive you're doing it wrong. I know it's crazy.. imagine using windows key + g for alt tabbing.. did your parents buy you a pc for Christmas? It's okay you'll figure it out on the steam discussion forums quickly. (PS there's only one choice)
Odd, I use a single display, and will use exclusive full screen if the option is available. Last I checked, there's nothing wrong with having the *choice* between the two options. Yet, here people like you are shaming people for no reason whatsoever, nor any sort of benefit or gain, for others simply wanting to have a simple choice that hurts nobody in the long run.
Nefrai 28/mar./2023 às 9:04
windowed-fullscreen is good for most games, and newer games do it well. Gsync/freesync both can handle it, for gsync, I have to tell it to turn on for windowed, however.
Some older games are horrible for windowed (cough DOA6 cough). But all new games in DX12 are just giving you windowed/windowed fullscreen. Your PC is handing it just fine in windowed. If you suspect something, try going to task manager and setting the game to 'high priority' (I have to do that for Diablo Immortal).

65% of steam's userbase (over 120 million users) have multi-displays.. guess what they like doing.. ALT-TABBING.. I know it's hard to fathom, but you're literally arguing one of the most inane arguments on the internet right now. If you had these kinds of opinions working in IT... you would be fired on the spot.

borderless runs no worse than fullscreen these days on new games. Its literally the same thing pretty much
Direct from the DirectX devblogs:

"With the release of Windows 10, we added Fullscreen Optimizations – which takes full screen exclusive games and runs them instead in a highly optimized borderless windowed format that takes up the entire screen. You get the visual experience and performance of running your game in FSE, but with the benefits of running in a windowed mode. These benefits include faster PC commands such as alt-tab, multiple monitor set ups and overlays. We have extensive performance data that indicates that almost all users who use Fullscreen Optimizations have equal performance to Full Screen Exclusive."

It's in everyone's best interest to be running any and all applications in borderless fullscreen like god intended.

yup, only older games will SOMETIMES run better in fullscreen kek. Even then many run the same.
There are a certain few that will run a decent amount better in full screen. These games are never past like 2010 or so thou. And it was rare. Out of the 420 games on steam ive played, and more on gamepass, over 10 years ive only had full screen get better fps literally at most a handful of times.

Again, last I checked, there is effectively nothing wrong with having the simple choice between the two options, nobody suffers, and everybody wins. Everybody gets their choice, and is left satisfied.

What's with the shaming of people? What don't y'all get about this?
GODzilla 28/mar./2023 às 9:10
This is especially cool for longer cutscenes, when the screensaver kicks in. xD Yeah, I know, screensaver, who uses these things nowadays anyway, right? Right.

Oh look, OLED is coming to pc screens. Better use those screensavers again lol.

Also, dx12? Has nothing to do with fullscreen option.
Weird Potato 28/mar./2023 às 9:10
It's DX12. You don't need fullscreen.

It's not a choice you need. It's a non issue.

Every decent game except poor trash port to PC have Exclusive Full Screen.

Dead Space Remake for example.

RE4 Remake no EFS, Village have EFS.

Again, coming from yet another individual attempting to control how people should and should not enjoy the games they play.
