How reliable is Green Man Gaming?
I generally purchase all my games directly from Steam however due to the price this game is going for in my region and how significant the difference it is through GMG it has got me questioning if I should go with them.

I recently picked up RE4 through Steam but did encounter quite a few people in the forums who ended up having issues with GMG and getting their keys on time and a lack of communication from the company in general. The difference from the time that I got the game on launch day and when some I spoke with that got their keys was for several hours with some even longer.

Was wanting to know if any of you who purchased Last of Us through them has had their keys already sent or has any indication when they will do it?

As far as I know they are an actual authorised seller for keys and not like other dodgy companies that exist out there which is good but I still don't want to encounter any issues if I decide to go through them, otherwise i'll just get it on Steam and possibly wait for a sale.

Edit: Ended up deciding to go with GMG as they are an authorised retailler and had an overall good experience with them. They even gave me the key right after purchase which I didn't expect, so it was a nice surprise finding out I was able to preload it a couple days in advance.

Thanks all for the help.

The re4 issue was due to capcom telling them to release key at US release time where they are release 4 hour later then the rest of the world.

Ah ok so it was mostly due to Capcom not giving them the keys in time for release rather than an issue with GMG? Ok that does make sense, especially since Capcom didn't provide any preloading whatsoever it must have made it a bit difficult for them.

I generally am quite hesitate to go to 3rd party sellers as it is and if I do i'll pay the extra from an authorised reseller since at least then it's not a key that could have been purchased by a stolen credit card or who knows what.

I get people like to use them that's cool but it's not for me. Generally if a companies name has to be literally censored on Steam then that's a pretty good sign to stay away.

Plus there is always that slim chance that your keys can be revoked after purchase if it is found they were purchased through illicit means.

Just look at the over 7000 people who purchased Sniper Elite 3 on launch day from that very company have all their keys completely revoked from their Steam account. With the only compensation coming in from slight discount on a dlc item in the game if they were to purchase it again on Steam.

+1 trustworthy and fair prices, even though their keys origin seems a bit shady

Wow yeah just had a look and they are even cheaper by GMG by a decent amount.

I don't mind going through CD keys, I know they are probably a little more grey but they seem to have pretty good rep.

Cheers for that mate, i'll give them a shot and see how it goes.

Every new game in recent memory I have gotten from them, Had one issue on a older cheaper title with them one time, And they made it right by me by giving me a new code and for their mistake gave me a one time use coupon code on my next purchase. With the recent RER4 remake I saved over 20 bucks compared to steam, And a average of around 10-12 over sites like greenman,humble,g2a and the such

I have yet to have a single problem with gmg.
100% stay away from G2A. It's so bad, Steam censors it.

Dont buy from DMG. RE4 was a disaster for all buyers.
wasabi™ Mar 26, 2023 @ 4:03pm
After further contemplation I ended up going through GMG in the end since I wanted to go through an authorised seller and the RE4 incident seemed like more of a rare instance where things didn't work out well and not the norm.

Pleasantly surprised that they already gave me the key right after purchase which was good of them. Gives me a day or two to preload the game since our internet speeds can be atrocious over here in Australia. Thanks all for the help it was much appreciated.
