CPU optimization
Didn't see anything of the sorts on the patch note.
Will there be any further CPU optimization?
The game has some big drops in performance due to bad usage of CPU while GPU just sits there at around 60%.
Same thing happens on both of rigs. One running on an i9 9900k ( try to say that very fast ) and the other on an i7 12700h. 3080 and 3070ti laptop respectively. Nvme and 32GB ram 3200mhz on both as well.

I have the same issue as well. When the patch notes release I immediately look for performance fixes but I rarely ever see them.

I have the game sitting on my library just waiting for when the game is being completely smoothed out.
Sick and tired of putting up with bad performance and half baked pushed outta the door products.
This industry is sick and needs proper care before is too late.

We need some kind regulatory body to certify games being finished (from a technical/performance perspective). And if the game can’t match their minimum/recommended specs, then they shouldn’t be able to charge full price for it. And also, every single PC game should have a performance chart like Sony games do, where they specify frame rate/resolution (and graphical settings) for each hardware tier. The old way of just saying minimum and recommended without going into detail is not sufficient. I feel like over in Europe, they could actually get something like that considering how strong their digital privacy rights are with GDPR. In America though, we’re just screwed unless the platform holders like Steam/Microsoft were able to force something like that.

I 100% agree!
PC gaming needs some sort of regulation and more consumer protection laws to deter publishers from scamming people left and right.
they are growing too used to doing it with little to no repercussion.
Full priced broken games with further monetization such as season passes, microtransactions, P2W trinkets, XP boots and anything they can think of.
Why isn't the FTC doing what they are really intended to do?
Instead they are chasing their tail and getting beat up at every turn.
That's the definition of insanity!

Agreed, I was thinking about that earlier. And you're right about Europe probably being the first to do something about it. I remember hearing about a possible law being passed to stop ps5 scalping over there during the pandemic.

Releasing unfinished games isn't considered a big deal because they are seen as "toys". Actual toy/figurine makers don't even put out unfinished stuff as bad as some of these games. I feel that if someone pays for something that thing should work immediately without issue.

Naughtydog had plenty of money to make sure this port was excellent and they cheaped out. I will never understand it.

I have the spec below "ultra" on the naughtydog spec sheet and so running 1440p on high / ultra settings I should be achieving 60fps locked, note.. Should

Averaging around 45 to 50 fps on a mix of high/medium which isn't great on an i7 9700k, 32gb of ram and a 2080ti ( no DLSS )

There have been no further optimisation on the CPU or GPU side to ensure lower than "ultra 4k" specs run smoothly.

I hope they're still working on the optimisation because this game really needs it.
Luppie Jul 19, 2023 @ 5:24am
My gpu always 99-100% but it is at 4k with ultra settings.
Luppie Jul 19, 2023 @ 5:37am
I have now also a 7800x3D cause the i9 9900kf was a bottlenek in some games like The Callisto Protocol, Dead Space remake, Star Wars Jedi survivor and TLOU
mhmtkfz Jul 19, 2023 @ 6:24am
I play callisto protocol, hogwarts legacy, god of war, spiderman, spiderman miles morales and rdr2 at 2k and ultra settings with dlss and fsr turned off, but I can't say the same for tlou.It has the worst optimization I've ever seen in my life. Once upon a time, there was another game with such bad optimization: Batman arkham knight... guess who ported these two games to PC?I can't believe Naughty dog is still working with iron galaxy.tlou has neither an open world nor incredibly realistic graphics, but it is far behind many current games I mentioned above in terms of optimization.
I had the game from day 1, thankfully I got it for free from AMD Rewards program for purchasing PowerColor Red Devil RX 6700 XT. If I bought it on full price I absolutely going to rage.. lol
Nakatomi Jul 19, 2023 @ 10:20am
I dont get how Cyver 2077 was pulled from Stores for being broken and yet Valve haven't done this game at all it's been a wreckfest since launch

Bet you wish you'd waited for the RE4 offer instead

Not to throw a stick in between wheels, the idea is good, but there are way too many possible PC configuration to 100 % guarantee a specific performance. This is way easier on consoles. You should read the minimum specs really like a minimum, it will run, but not well. The recommended specs should give you expected 60 FPS at 1080 P with reasonable graphics (not ultra, not necessarily everything on high) when not clearly stated otherwise (there the fun begins to spread) but not with higher resolutions.
As we all know 60 FPS at 1080 P is not really that much anymore today... . The question is also: does this exclude unstable frames, framedrops below 60 etc. Probably not.

Recent recommendations will also include use of an SSD and what is often neglected, also by the players is the fact that a powerful CPU should be used when there is a powerful GPU. Such a combination will be much better at stable frames than a lower tier CPU with a high tier GPU.

Yes, the game is probably not that well optimized and the recommended specs are still a bit to low tier for my taste, if they should be enough for 60 FPS, good graphics 1080P. On the other hand I think people tend to read to much into such specs.

And if you really would want official guarantees and control how this is handled you should be prepared to give your PC away for testing in the case of a complaint. If the company should be held accountable for minimum specs then the customer must be held accountable that the gaming PC runs like should be expected, too. To test this in a fair way a neutral party must do this... . Just a ew thoughts.

^I dont but that "too many different configurations of parts" crap. I'm sure more goes into it than with a console but if it was as hard as you say there would barely be any good ports. Naughtdog and SorryGalaxy did a piss poor job with the port because they wanted to push the game out close to the end of the show. If making a pc port was so hard there wouldn't be so many pc parts because the devs and programmers would've done a strike or something.
