Huge positive improvements after patch
5800X3D + RTX 4080 16GB VRAM + 32GB DDR4-3800 + W11 + NVMe 4.0

1440p native + everything on ultra settings

a). Some CPU limited scenes usually brought framerate down to 90-95 fps, after the latest patch the framerate never goes below 120 fps in the same scenes I have manual save points to test. That's a considerable improvement. No more "upgrade your potato CPU" nonsense.

b). Loading times are lightning fast now, the game at launch took around 20+ seconds from main menu to actual gameplay, prior to latest patch it was around 8 seconds, now it is barely 3 seconds, it's almost twice as fast as the PS5 version now. No more PS5 >> PC nonsense.

c). Shader compilation stuttering is completely fixed, I've tested 12 places where it happened and it is buttery smooth now after fresh shader pre-compilation (which is also fast btw).

d). All gfx details that were a bit off (or bugged) compared to the PS5 version are now fixed, I've played through the PS5 version at least 6 times and now it's the first time I can say the PC version on ultra settings looks considerably better with no missing or glitched effects.

All in all it's a night and day difference, I wonder who worked on this latest patch? it's hard to believe the same ppl worked on the previous builds compared to this one.

That's great. I'll test out the latest patch.

People learn and improve, are you aware of that?

It's still nice to hear that it got so greatly improved. :D
Was quite the bold move going from 1.0.5.0 to 1.1.0.0.
At least if version numbers matters to some, something like that marks a huge change. :P

Is the Micro Stuttering fixed, which was patched in the last Patch?
Seibzehn Jun 13, 2023 @ 1:01pm
That sounds good, now I can start to play the game ;)
(I did preorder the game).

Still bad for me- about to give up on this game.

micro stuttering as in frametime spikes? well I use RTSS to cap framerate at 120 fps and it's a flat line with zero stuttering, at least on the 5800X3D + 4080. If you mean shader compilation stuttering then also yes, that's fixed too.
what about the cpu/gpu temps? are they still get more heat on them?

SHADDAP. I've OD'd on games this last month..
you're forcing me to go back and try it out
:)

The CPU compute cost per frame in this game is still high but I've noticed that the CPU running at 120fps no longer goes above 55ºC, it's around 48-50ºC on average (considering it's already summer in Spain...)

I can't say about the GPU temps since the 4080 is so overbuilt that I've never seen temps go above 45ºC (RTX 4080 Suprim X).

I mean the compilation Stuttering.
Playing on 4070 and Ryzen 7 5700x.

3800x still has massive frametime issues in specific area's....
I don't think they have done much, seems pretty much the same juddery ♥♥♥♥.
However, locking it to 60 fps with rivatuner (which still is better than ingame limiter), results in a mostly smooth frametime but still not perfect.

which CPU? I've noticed such a considerable improvement on a 5800X3D, my 4080 is no longer limited by it.

I remember a couple of places with the issues you mentioned but they fixed that (at least on my hardware config) on 1.0.2 and later builds.

Performance appears better when forcing vsync on in Nvidia controller and off in the game. Also need to set the max frame rate to 65(60 was micro stuttering).

3800x, it's what i start my reaction with.
I also have a 4080, and i indeed want to upgrade to the 5800x3D, but yeah i think the 3800x should still be able to run the game without juddering, although at a lower framerate.

yeah it should, but the game still puts all the burden of the texture decompression engine on the CPU and it looks like Zen 3 monolithic CPU designs have an advantage here compared to Zen 2 chiplets. The same can be said with regard to DDR5 vs DDR4. Maybe future patches can address these limitations.
