Reinstalled the VGA driver a few times, the CPU usage is low now as well, but i managed to make the VGA usage to reduce. Im playing at minimum settings, VGA usage is not going higher than 70%, it's not crashing right now.
I was wrong, nothing has solved. Yesterday i was managed to play a few hours without crash. Today (after reboot) its the same again. The game has changed the graphical settings back to high, changed right back to minimum. Started playing about 10 minutes, at the end of a cutscene: VGA 100% usage, then crash again. I can't belive it. Yeah, i can resintall the VGA driver again, that means i have to wait 30-60 minutes for the shaders to load again, and it's not guaranteed to solve the crashing even for a short amount of time.
This game's technical side is horroristic, crashes are completly ruining the exprerience of the game. I should buy PS console with the game and play it with that, it's unenjoyable on PC with this things. Congratulations Sony and Naughty Dog.
I dont think RAM causes this. 28 GB comes from 16GB+8GB+4GB, these are 3 RAM moduls. It's somekind of driver issue, i couldnt figure it out.
Crash at 100% gpu usage is strange, could be a Hardware related issue. Checked the Temps? 8 GB vram is a minimum for this game. Try lowering settings a bit more.
Im playing at the minimum settings, it can't be a hardware issue because it's a brand new VGA, i bought it only a week ago. The VGa temp is rarely gets higher than 60 C degrees.
which driver you use? is is 536.67? are you playing with the latest patch?
i think latest because ''download+launch''
What's the dual channel has to do with this? It's clearly somekind of VGA driver issue, the game ported terribly wrong to PC. Naughty dog screw it up badly. Anyway, i found someting really interesting: i was about to record the issue with bandicam in order to show it to ND support. Any time I start recording the game with bandicam, it NEVER crashes. Usually im starting to record, when im starting the game, after a few minutes stop recording, and it's not crashing after that. When a cutscene comes in, im starting the record again in order to avoid crash again. The game barely uses my CPU, while my GPU is begging for its life (meaning: high usage %). Maybe if the CPU usage is a bit higher (i guess the recording incrase it's usage), the load is more balanced, or idunno.
My laptop has 12GB. It had one SODIMM slot, and 4GB soldered directly to the mobo. Biggest upgrade it could handle was an 8GB. I agree, matching RAM is a good thing, but I can run it with absolute crap RAM on Vega 8 APU graphics with relative stability and well below the minimum requirements. It does freeze and CTD occasionally, but it's playable.
Graphics drivers are huge, kill your AV and unnecessary background processes, and if you have graphics card software that allows you to cap your framerate, that could be it. Runaway framerate is a problem with some cards on some systems with some games. I play MSFS 2020 on Ultra on a 3060 Ti OC and my utilization isn't that high with photorealism and realtime air traffic turned on during landing. Something's going on there.
