It sounds like you stumbled an important/critical fix.
You'd be doing a lot of people - including ND - a big favor when the next patch comes out..
I have a steam deck as well, game works completely fine on there with no issues and minimal tinkering.
Wow. How the heck they let that slip through..
This is probably a repeat of TLoU day1 for them.
I hope someone's gonna have to answer for this .. hope it's someone in decisionmaking.
Unfortunately probably someone in Dev.
If it's in PROGRAM FILES that can be an issue, esp. on Windows 10 / 11 with hardening or high security settings. It could be the cause of your crashing -- it's not recommended for games to be installed there because it causes performance loss or crashing due to permissions issues.
It should be in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
your save are in:
C:\Users\<yourUsername>\AppData\LocalLow
Steam is installed in the default location but games are not installed there they're on their own 4TB nvme SSD in a steam library. saved games are located where the game puts them, user/saved games.
Doesn't seem to matter what i do, it will work with the same games deleted, but won't work with the cloud saves or saves copied from the steam deck, it's a weird one. I did try to move the game install folder(even a complete delete and reinstall) no change.
