I swear there is nothing more annoying than entitled Pc players that dont even know the specs they are talking about.

Go look here:

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-vs-Nvidia-RTX-2060S-Super/4105vs4049

They have the same benchmark results.

8GB and 12GB are not the same performance wise :)))

How is it even possible to atcually get it wrong the second time?
Your title:
"3060 8gb is worse than 2060 super, who made this recommendation chart?"

Yes the 3060 8Gb has the same VRam as the 2060super, which happens to have 8Gb. Wow big Deal. Big Deal.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-2060-super.c3441

What is your point anyway? Do you really get offended by your own stupidity?

Amateur.

Instead of doubling down with no argument in hand you could admit your mistake instead of your poor attempts at offending me.
Rub your 2 braincells and answer yourself why 3060 8gb gpu is paired on their chart with 2070 super while being inferior to 2060 super. You can do it ;*

Because they have the same benchmark results, have pretty much the same power when it comes to running a video game and yes even have the same Vram.
Thats why they are paired.
Donte Mar 9, 2023 @ 1:53pm
But the point is that they are not equals
It's like this 3060 8gb<rtx 2060 super<3060 12gb<2070 super<3060 ti.
Difference is quite significant.
Not to mention amd rx 5800xt, a gpu that doesn't even exist.

The point of recommendation in Specs is to give the user a general idea in what spectrum he sits with the hardware.
These cards listed there roughly have the same power. There might be small differences but they are not significant enough to differentiate them in a two way chart.
I made no comment on the non existing Rx 5800xt.
Anyway the point is that you pretty much know what to expect with your card by reading those specs.
Nothing more to it.

Using vram as a metric for GPU performance does not strengthen your case of knowing what you are talking about.

Using vram as a metric for GPU performance does not strengthen your case of knowing what you are talking about.
It's used to differentiate models of the same-name product.
8gb has 128 bit memory bus compared to 192 bit of 12gb model.
It chokes bandwith speed significantly
refer to this video to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPbIsxIQb8M

I did not used vram as performance metric but to differentiate models.
In your opinion how else I should refer to these gpu's if not their vram size?

opinion, going from a 2070 super 8gb to a 3060 12gb, 2fan or 3 fan

is it worth it it and sell my 2070 to over half pay for it?

2070 super sits between 3060 and 3060ti in terms of power.
The only case in my opinion that it would be "worth it" is if you need those extra 4gb of vram.

@Sonic you literally posted a link to a benchmark where 2060s performs better in a number of categories including multirendering (a huge one). You literally linked evidence supporting the opposite of your claim lol
