Preordering a game, Especially one that you have played before it was remade is pretty smart actually.
You already know what the deal is, how the gameplay is, how the story plays out etc etc etc with all the modern tech that enhances the experience further than the original game ever could at the time.
Take dead space for example, The original was pretty damn good, The remake is phenomenal in terms of story / replayability and the visual enhancements.
Plus in any case, If a person was going to buy the game anyway shortly after launch, They may aswell preorder and get some of the preorder bonuses on top since it wouldn't make any difference to them buying at launch.
The game appears in your library but you can't download it till 2 days before launch.
