This is the 2022 Remake for the PS5, not the 2014 PS4 Remastered Edition.

At first I was pretty upset seeing the price for a nearly 9 year old game, but now that I know it's the Remake and not the Remaster, I'm a lot happier with this price.

I look forward to playing TLoU for the first time!

The remake which features stunning graphics (seriously watch a comparison video, it's night an day), but also features NEW AI. It also has the crazy gore system from TLOU2.

People that are saying this is a cash grab are being intentionally ignorant, and probably still butthurt over TLOU2 (which was even better than Part 1, amazing game).

I think that's an unfair thing to say, considering I did the exact same thing and didn't realize there was a difference between "The Last of Us Part 1" and "The Last of Us Remake".

Also, I've never played either TLoU 1 or 2, so I only peripherally know about some outrage amongst some groups of people. I did get the beginning and ending of TLoU 2 spoiled for me, unfortunately, but I'm still looking forward to playing both games.

Just know that COD MW2 Campaign Remastered from 2020 (not the new 2022 version) made the same improvements this game made yet still calls itself a Remaster.

They did the same thing. Original Game -> Remaster -> Remake

Maybe I'm missing the point of what you said, but this is clearly the Remake from 2022 because it uses the name "The Last of Us Part 1"

People are always Negative sadly, but this is the sort of genre I like and I'm pleased that is has found it's way on to PC. I don't tend to Pre-purchase games although I probably will with SOD3. The last console I really played on was the Intellivision so I've missed out on the Playstation and Xbox. I'm hoping The last of Us Part1 will be good.

The thing is Resident Evil 4 is 17 years old game been remade from scratch and there are probably new dialogues and some different scenes to the known story...I even heard they added new enemy dog to the game. The standard edition price is less than the last of us. Re 4 Deluxe edition is the same price as the Last of us. But You are not missing anything if you didn't buy Deluxe edition for Re4. You do fine with standard. I hope its clear what I'm trying to say. I'm so glad they added the game to steam but the price is iffy.....I'm not sure I can take it now sadly.

Yes there was a PS4 remaster of the game in 2014. Played, loved it.
What this is really an Enhanced Version of the original game. When you use the word 'remake' it makes it sound like you made this from scratch and everything is completely made from the ground up when that really isn't the case. This is not like Resident Evil, Mafia Definitive Edition, Final Fantasy 7, Dead Space remakes.
This is still the same game of the original just modified/improved. Hence why I said it's Enhanced.

No, it is a remake my boy. All new assets, its running on TLOU 2 engine so obviously there's gonna be a ton of improvements from that. It's more than a remastered

No, it is a remake my boy. All new assets, its running on TLOU 2 engine so obviously there's gonna be a ton of improvements from that. It's more than a remastered

Umm seems to be you don't know what a remake is really.

You're making it sound like they changed from Unity to Unreal 5 where they couldn't bring/recover any code and would have to start from scratch or something. All they really did was port TLOU1's code into TLOU2's engine and made improvements. That's it.

Adorable you think that I'm just "blindly attacking the game" when I've already pre-ordered it.
