Could not be more true for this series. The Last of Us on HBO is as successful as it is due to the incredible source material. I cannot see this to continue with a second season which is based off a mediocre source material. Part 2 was nonsensical on many occasions and simply not a masterpiece as the original The Last of Us.

At this stage, the HBO has created so much popularity to the franchise and part 3 even if it was a steaming pile of dump, it will still sell like hotcakes; just like what we’ve seen with Call of Duty. Black Ops 3 and 4 were atrocious games yet they still made millions.

I am nervous about the series being ruined by The Last of Us Part 2 and the general audience would not appreciate it just like the gamers didn’t and it will do more harm than good.

The hype definitely died a little for for me with TLOU2.
But let's explore why:
1. Joel died (DGAF about Joel, it was Ellie for me)
2. Ellie's sxuality ( lsbian relationship ) upset conservatives.
3. Disproven BS about Abby being 'trans'
4. Abby's physique threatens some people's masculinity.
5. Lev was the actual trans(not major plot device)

Clearly bad-faith review bombing only puts my guard up on 'oh it's going to be sht'.

This honestly can apply to any series that got way too popular for it's own good.

After the first game's ending, I was very excited for a sequel and couldn't wait to see the many adventures Joel and Ellie would go through even though I had a small feeling they probably were gonna kill off Joel. Once they announce Part 3 which is inevitable, I'll still be interested to see where things go but I most certainty won't have as much hype for it. I honestly see Naughty Dog still bring back Joel for Part 3 but relegate him to only flashbacks just to get the Joel fans to STFU.
