Tess and Ellie on the other hand, don't really make me feel like I'm seeing the characters from the game. Don't get me wrong, they both turn in phenomenal performances, but they just don't convince me I'm seeing Tess and Ellie.
Simple. The diversity mafia is still stealing roles from white actors.
The tide is turning, however, as the balance sheets in Hollywood are getting painful to read.
And the series do not depict historic person, like the court of England or Slavic gods or something but modern day, so it is not immersion breaking.
Don't feel triggered.
TLOU will sell like gangbusters. The dramatization is going great.
- When a product is mainstream accepted: controversy is advertising.
- When a product is toxic : controversy is like cancellation.
This isn't 10 years ago. It's all good.
They're seething because people have already seen EPS1-2.. Pascal is crushing it.
If either the plot was weak or the execution was bad, there would be debate, BUT:
- the story is loved and not a secret
- pascal is oscar level acting.. not hallmark level.
- movie critics are saying the screen direction is surgical and effective.
curious what exactly about the show you think is woke
why would you want them to tell the exact same story again? the universe they have created has room for telling so many cool stories.
It both a medium to tell a story. These are 2 adaptations of the same story.
