Wait for this or play the original? (Never played)
Had the game series spoiled for me so I never played through it. Should I wait for this remaster or stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around, buy playstation plus, and play it through the PSN app on comp?

I've never played it before either - but I don't own a PS console.
- If I (still) had a PS console: I'd buy the cheap one and play the cheaper one.
- In my case, I won't buy another console so I'm getting the Steam version.

You're not gonna miss anything story related if you get the original. You can get the PS4 remastered and itll still come with the story DLC at a much cheaper price if you want to save a little money.

I will say that I no longer have a ps4 either, so the only way I could play the old game is purchasing Playstation Plus platinum and using the app to stream it. Used to come with the package i already had, so to upgrade I'd have to spend 50 bucks.

So there's 3 versions of the game now. The original PS3 game (2013) does look a little bit dated now but its still a fantastic game, runs at 30fps if i remember correctly, its one of those games that feel almost like watching a TV show because the story, setting and characters are so good.

Then there was the remaster for PS4 which is the same game but just a few tweaks like higher resolution option and a few other graphical tweaks, and 60fps mode, it does look better than the original but not a massive jump.

And now we have 'part 1' which again is essentially the same game again but its more of a remake as it uses character models that look way more like the ones used in last of us part 2 (2020), they have done quite a lot of work to this version like cutscenes are now rendered in real time instead of video files and many areas have been totally remodelled.

So its really up to you and i guess depends on your financial situation, all 3 are great games but you will have the best experience by playing the latest one that's available on PS5 and soon on PC. Here's a video that better shows off what they have changed in the new version of the game:

Just a correction: It's a full remake, not a remaster.
Remasters increase graphical quality and options within the same engine and core game, this is a completely redone with the engine of the second game.

Wait fort this. This remaster is 1:1 with the original. With much improved graphics, improved AI and controls. There is really no reason to play the original. This one is just an upgrade.
