Yes please! I can't wait for that to happen, and then, I'll use mods on Rivet that will make her beautiful and immoral. Perfection... :fhappy:

Is coming next year is the next game Nixxes is porting, same engine as Spiderman so should be easier to port, anyway it was in nvidia leak and some rumours suggest is coming possible Q3 2023.

It's hard to imagine. Rift Apart is only possible due to the ultra fast PS5 SSD, which is faster than anything available on PC.

The game design is simply not possible on PC.

Even if this was the first ever PC game to require a SSD instead of a Hard drive, it would still not be enough.

Pff thats a big lie lol. Transitions like that have been done a lot of times in past. Needs better coding lol not better PCs.

The expanded 2tb NVMe I shoved in my PS5 is probably the cheapest brand available that just ~barely meets Sony's recommended minimum speeds, and I run most things off of it fine.

Supposedly Rift Apart specifically is near identical at speeds even slower than mine.

Honestly I think having SSD's as minimum reqs wouldn't be that much of an issue for things going forward.
It's [Insert Year here] and I don't know anyone who doesn't install their main AAA's on an SSD already anyway. The less intensive stuff and indies I tend to dump on my old mechanical drives to save space.

Then it's even worse. Loading times on PS5 are much faster than anything on PC.
Digital Foundry loves comparing those PC releases with the PS5 and showing how much faster the PS5 versions loads even compared to high end PCs with the fastest of SSDs. In every game, PS5 loads faster. And this is a mandatory thing for Rift Apart to work as intended.

Rift Apart on PC will be like playing MK Trilogy on PS1 and choosing Shang Tsung.

You would get short freezes during gameplay to load the world transitions.

There is none.

Look at 1:03 min and name a single game on PC or in anywhere to ever pull something like this.. Fast almost instant transition to entire open worlds like this.

Even if this could be accomplished with better code, and you may be right.. Thing is, the code of the game wasn't written to do this in anything other than the PS5. How much re-coding you expect them to do in order to release an almost 3 years old game on PC at this point?

They didn't even release the PS4 one, which was a remake of the first game.

Don't get me wrong.. I would love for Rift Apart and the previous one to come to PC, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Seems like too much work and the requirements of fast SSDs will really cause Sony all sorts of headaches due to how many people would buy the game and get upset by it not functioning well.

@ V I D A L. I dont even wanna read the Digital Foundary essay you just posted above as they are industry shills and will gladly say what they are paid to say. As for you, if you are sooooo super scared then just dont buy it. I will buy it on day1, so once again....make it happen SONY.

It's not about reading the Digital Foundry essay. It's about a side by side comparing loading time in Spider-Man and how much faster the PS5 loads into the game compared to PC.

You're just choosing to ignore the facts.

I would buy it on day 1 as well. That is not the point.

I would still buy it if it takes 2 secs on every transition....the same 2 secs that I take to load Spiderman Remastered entire map by loading my save from a mere normal SSD with only 550mb speeds.

The difference is, the loading time in spider man is loading your save time.. the ones in Rift apart is in the middle of gameplay.

In any case.. seems like Spider-Man remaster suffers from freezes to load while web swinging through the city anyway.. happened to me multiple times during the game (as well as many reports in the community there) where the games completely freezes and you see the spider logo on the corner loading the city ahead..

Never happened in Miles Morales though.

Watching the Rift Apart trailer again.. I think I see the loading trick there.. Seems like you travel to a void for a moment between worlds.. like some sort of purple dimension. That purple dimension is a hidden loading to the next world.. I guess a PC version would only make you stay falling through that purple dimension a bit longer till the next world is loaded. Maybe freezing wouldn't be necessary. Never played the game, so not sure what else happens in it.

According to rumors, both games (2016 and Rift Apart) are in development for the PC. It is supposed to be released in 2023. Here are a few hints: Ratchet & Clank has been updated to have ray traced lighting & reflections. Both games will also support unlimited framerates. Ratchet 2016 also has nicer visuals, some assets ripped from Rift Apart when playing with "Legendary" graphics preset. The character models are also pretty much the same for both games. Rift Apart will also have a large range of graphical options and customisable settings. In fact the accessibility settings are also coming to Ratchet & Clank. Both games will also have Nvidia Reflux, PhysX support, DLSS, and AMD FSR support. Both games will be coming in bundle which will retail at $70; PC only... If this is really true, then we can finally experience R&C here! I hope so much, because is my most desired PS title!

Thanks for that great laugh. I needed a good "someone who believes buzzwords" laugh.
