The game design is simply not possible on PC.
Even if this was the first ever PC game to require a SSD instead of a Hard drive, it would still not be enough.
Supposedly Rift Apart specifically is near identical at speeds even slower than mine.

Honestly I think having SSD's as minimum reqs wouldn't be that much of an issue for things going forward.
It's [Insert Year here] and I don't know anyone who doesn't install their main AAA's on an SSD already anyway. The less intensive stuff and indies I tend to dump on my old mechanical drives to save space.
Digital Foundry loves comparing those PC releases with the PS5 and showing how much faster the PS5 versions loads even compared to high end PCs with the fastest of SSDs. In every game, PS5 loads faster. And this is a mandatory thing for Rift Apart to work as intended.

Rift Apart on PC will be like playing MK Trilogy on PS1 and choosing Shang Tsung.
You would get short freezes during gameplay to load the world transitions.
There is none.

Look at 1:03 min and name a single game on PC or in anywhere to ever pull something like this.. Fast almost instant transition to entire open worlds like this.
Even if this could be accomplished with better code, and you may be right.. Thing is, the code of the game wasn't written to do this in anything other than the PS5. How much re-coding you expect them to do in order to release an almost 3 years old game on PC at this point?
They didn't even release the PS4 one, which was a remake of the first game.
Don't get me wrong.. I would love for Rift Apart and the previous one to come to PC, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Seems like too much work and the requirements of fast SSDs will really cause Sony all sorts of headaches due to how many people would buy the game and get upset by it not functioning well.
You're just choosing to ignore the facts.
I would buy it on day 1 as well. That is not the point.
In any case.. seems like Spider-Man remaster suffers from freezes to load while web swinging through the city anyway.. happened to me multiple times during the game (as well as many reports in the community there) where the games completely freezes and you see the spider logo on the corner loading the city ahead..
Never happened in Miles Morales though.
Watching the Rift Apart trailer again.. I think I see the loading trick there.. Seems like you travel to a void for a moment between worlds.. like some sort of purple dimension. That purple dimension is a hidden loading to the next world.. I guess a PC version would only make you stay falling through that purple dimension a bit longer till the next world is loaded. Maybe freezing wouldn't be necessary. Never played the game, so not sure what else happens in it.
Thanks for that great laugh. I needed a good "someone who believes buzzwords" laugh.
