Agreed.

The remake was released on PlayStation 5 on September 2022. That's exactly the port is coming to PC, so technically 6 months, despite the original game was from 2013.

You keep saying remake in these threads.. what exactly was remade though?
When I did my umpeetmpth play of this version on PS5 the other month it played identically to the PS4 version which, framerate notwithstanding played identically to the PS3 version.

There's no 'Remake' here and this weird pedanticness of attributing it to the latest console release is just pointless. It's like Saying the Persona 5 Royale version on Steam is a brand new release since it's PS5 version released at the same time; absolute nonsense.

they do not invent the wheel new .... its just an overhaul/Facelift from the 2013 game ... so that does not allow to get the original AAA Fullprice ..... just my two cents :D

There are a lot of really stupid people who purchase these things. The same sorts of people who don't mind paying $20 a month to some chicks onlyfans

This is from PlayStation blog:

While the Last of Us Part I can render Native 4K at targeted 30 FPS or dynamic 4K at targeted 60 FPS*, and features PS5 mainstays like DualSense wireless controller haptics, trigger effects, and 3D audio**, it’s clear that there’s a lot more going on here than a simple resolution and framerate bump, it’s a complete overhaul.

From the art direction to the character models, the entire game has been rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of a new generation of graphical capability, allowing this game to reach the visual fidelity that the studio aspired for when crafting this experience. The PS5’s powerful hardware drives a host of visual benefits, from denser physics with tons of bumpables and chipables (bullets can now rip apart concrete and environmental objects) and cinematics now transition seamlessly to gameplay. Motion matching technology means that character animations flow more convincingly, intuitively and realistically; all adding another layer of believability to characters and their interactions with the world. Further, AI upgrades mean that characters inhabit the world in a more authentic and realistic way, such as buddy characters navigating cover to avoid enemy NPC sightlines more authentically.

The enhancements are all in the name of increasing the game’s immersion, but the improvements don’t stop there. Naughty Dog worked with their community to integrate some fan requests, including a “permadeath” mode, a speedrun-focused mode, and a host of brand-new unlockable costumes for Joel and Ellie. The game also hosts 60-plus accessibility options, outpacing what the developer was able to offer with The Last of Us Part II, and includes a new Audio Description mode, ensuring that play is rewarding and inclusive for all.

sorry but this is not remake, a lot people dissapoint about this tlou ( fans think this game improve animation like tlou 2 but not instead they only improve graphic )

Its hard to complain when they release spiderman miles morales with 6-7 gameplay with 50 bucks price tag this game is 2x more gameplay than that and only 10 bucks higher. But its nothing new in triple AAA companies like ubisoft EA or PS SONY. I even find out CAPCOM start selling old resident evil games or bayonetta with higher price tag and when the game is on sale game cost same price like as before with basic price. I dont get it too but you and i cant do anything about that and even steam look at steamdb how much that price go higher in % than VALVE suggest with NFS UNBOUND it goes even in some countries by 918% higher 918% higher oh my god. And they dont get it why piracy is back in this year

Wow, shame I didn't notice any of that.
They should have brought over some of TLoU2's game mechanics and stuff like prone to make it a more fresh and replayable 'remake' :/
Sounds like it was mostly for new audiences and/or graphics enthusiants, of which I was neither.

I certainly have my own definition of what a 'complete overhaul' ought to be I guess.
'Better graphics' falls into Remaster territory for me, not remake.

Resident Evil 2> RE2 Remake is how the word should be used.

Just delusional if the companies start thinking they will know it if they sell game no with 70 price tag but like 40 price tag people gonna at least double it that solds so 40+40 two people buy = 80 Bucks so companies even gonna earn more and for people it would be cheaper and better . But no its kind of nobrainer

yeah like i said it doesnt even make sense more for PS SONY owners buy this game on PS 5 with 60 bucks price tag when its same game basically same game. Its same thing like Dead Space right know in gameplay story everything its same game with only better graphics and resolution fix and they too want it 60 bucks. I buy it games but i kind of get it why piracy is back this year i even like i said saw capcom 2K and another companies just sold old games with higher price tag here on steam than before just why

but technically this port is the 2022 PS5 version, not the 2013.

Totally agree. I can currently buy an entire used PS3 for under $50 and a used copy of this game for $3. Why would I pay $60 for a PC version. Maybe $20 out of support. They should have put their efforts and money towards making a NEW game - not trying to money grab on some old used-up BS.
