U guys think this thing sold well enough that we will get a sequel?
I am really tired of mainline Souls games with their samey gameplay, so this and Sekiro were huge favourites of mine. Hope we can get a sequel or an expansion soon.

I don't even play "Souls" games and I am tired of them but I will let From have their money maker all the same. I don't have any concrete data but I am willing to bet AC 6 was the most commercially successful AC game. So I would like a follow up AC 6 game this year and think it is likely.

Yeah the main combat loop of dodge roll, get in a quick hit, dodge roll a couple more times, get in a quick hit, sometimes jump (if you can endure enough trial and error on a boss to know which moves are jumpable), get in a quick hit is boring. Playing as a mage and just not engaging with the enemy at all is boring as hell as well. ELden Ring selling super well probably means the Souls series will keep trucking along.

Yeah I played vanilla Demon's Souls at launch and the "genre" isn't for me. Currently replaying AC 6 and I find I can't wait to get into a briefing and blow some stuff up. Seeing an Armored Core 6 combo mad type video from Old Breadbones got me back into it.

It's not a question of "if," it's a question of "when."
AC6 is the best selling Armored Core game in the franchise's history, but that's not the actual incentive. FromSoftware kept making more Armored Core games even when they weren't incredibly profitable or big hits. It's their passion franchise. Love for the series is the true incentive.

I'd agree with the "not if but when" take - as far as I understand, AC6 surpassed From's sales expectations by a pretty wide margin, and some time after that they made some job postings specifically for 3D mecha artists - so unless they are hard at work on a Metal Wolf Chaos or Chromehounds sequel, I'm pretty sure they've got something cooking for Armored Core. If they jump straight to another numbered sequel as opposed to an expansion / DLC I'd be a little surprised, as it would be the first time in the franchise's history, but who knows.

There will be something in the future, but FROM tends to be hush-hush for a long time on stuff (with Nightreign being a bit of an oddity). AC5 was one of the reasons the series went dormant for a bit (not even Verdict Day with its improvements could wipe away the stains of AC5)(also the rise of the Souls series), but FROM was more than happy to bring out AC6 despite past shortcomings. We just have to wait, it sucks but its all we can do.

🤓Actually... despite AC5 being a flaming pile of garbage, it was their best selling AC game worldwide since AC2 and AC3. You can look up the sales data, it's not hard to find.
Until AC6, no Armored Core game ever broke 1 million sales.

The only reason why Armored Core went dormant for 10 years was because of Dark Souls. The publisher, Bandai Namco, told FromSoftware to make more Dark Souls games because the series was profitable.

Definitely did well.

Edit - Don't be mislead by the link, it's not about a new game. Just they are happy with the sucess and we can expect more in the future

Then I stand corrected on the success of AC5. However, I will still bellow about how terrible AC5 is despite the numbers proving me wrong and it being my personal opinion (which is just me just whining).
