Chromehounds 2
As much as I like the fast-paced combat of AC, and in light of its success, I am desperate for Chromehounds 2. Good god I miss the combat in that game. The slower, more tactical combat was so much fun. I remember making an artillery walker and supporting my squad through long-rang bombardment supported by our scout. I'd get into strategic position and await the tower cap to reconnect comms before delivering artillery to the coordinates my team gave me.

I also remember making an insidious tank-treads missiles-only bastard of a creation that would engage directly and launch a volley of like 16x4 missiles like a shotgun and blast whoever was unfortunate enough to land on the operating end of my cow mech.

The way these older, more plodding mechs operated was so much fun. Anyone else remember Chromehounds? Even the menu reminds me of the garage of Chromehounds....

I mean we are called “Hound” in this. Perhaps it’s a subtle nod?
I would love a Chromehounds 2, or at least re-release the first game. There are so many XBox 360 games that are tied to that system. Chromehounds and Ace Combat 6 are both games I would love to see a PC release.

No kidding. Like Mechassault 1 and 2. Would love to see that on PC, might was well throw in all the previous Armored Cores too lol.

Silent Hills.
Pretty much all the PS2-3 gen games. And most of the Xbox OG/360 games.
...came into this thread to check one thing and one thing only.

Anyone else remember when M.A.V. worked and was sold on Steam? Because I sure do, and also regret not following development on that game more closely since I missed the window to migrate my account to the standalone...

I'd drop a benny easy for a collection of armored core. There's a mod for AC6 to get the old AC4/FA movement back.

I bought MAV on Steam. The game was in an extremely early state at the time, so I figured my purchase was good and I would come back to it sometime down the line.

When I popped in to check on the status, I saw that they moved off of Steam, that the Steam version was no longer supported, and that I had missed the window to migrate ownership to the standalone. "That's fine" I thought, as I felt $20 wasn't so much that I wouldn't be willing to pay it again for what could be a really nice game. So I bought that standalone.

My account wasn't recognized by the game, even though I was posting in the forums. I sent three separate emails asking for resolution, none of which were responded to. I posted in the forums to ask what I should do, and forum staff said I should send an email; when I said that I had already sent three and didn't know how else to resolve it, I stopped getting responses on the forum.

I'm not here to bash indie devs. But I bought the game twice on the good faith that it would work, and barring that then at least the good faith that I would be heard by the team and it could be resolved. Neither of those things happened, so I gave up on MAV. Besides, they only really got the gameplay beats down (I assume, since I can't actually play it and can only watch it on youtube), but they don't have all the other stuff that makes Chromehounds a perfect package.

Whaaaat. The. Absolute butts. Chargeback. See if you can get a chargeback on that twenty.

Really glad I didn't buy the standalone for sure now...another cautionary tale of buying into Early Access games.
i hope they at the least remake chromehounds 1 for the pc.

Would be the dream. Turns out since SEGA was hosting servers for it, there was some netcode tied to the OG Xbox, so that's why CH went down in 2010 when the OG XBL services did (was discovered recently in an effort to reverse engineer)
Chromehound was amazing but MW5 Mercenaries can scratch that hitch if needs be.

Specially with the mod support on that game, if you did not give it a go i am sure you will enjoy. Keep in mind it does not have the same building freedom Chromahound gave us so many years ago but the vanilla game and specially with mods will allow you to build pretty much anything you want.

MW5 is awful compared to Chromehounds.

They're not even the same kind of mech game so it's not much of a comparison.

Chromehounds was my absolute jam back in the Xbox 360 era, and the mech game I played the most back then. I absolutely loved the multiplayer - with teams of a few players having to go around the map, taking towers and intelligently fighting throughout a wide range of environments with your fully custom builds.

It was just so much fun to customize mechs in that game and take them out to fight.

Sure, games like MechWarrior have fighting of giant mechs too in a large-scale way, but the sheer amount of customization you had access to in Chromehounds was just amazing. You could do really funny builds like a quick wheel build with melee spikes that drove into enemies on city maps, using the buildings for cover. My go-to build was a tank-treaded sniper with heavy cannons and backup rapid-fire missiles for any enemies that tried to close the gap.

I hope to see a new Chromehounds or similar game in the future by a properly funded developer. I know there is "MAV" and the like, but that game seems to be developed as a glacial pace and I doubt it will ever have the kind of scale I wanted from a potential Chromehounds successor.
