They might as well have skipped money and just awarded the parts.
I think that a little bit farming early on and S ranking after unlocking all the gear is more time efficient and more fun.
Best bet for losses is to choose weapons with the highest cost for ammunition. Maybe multiplied by amount of shots on that weapon, I dunno.
...I just know I mounted two Harris linear rifles and the VPM vertical plasma missile launchers when I found this out. Was the Eliminate "Cinder" Carla mission. I beat up Snail on principle before fighting Chatty and Carla, and somehow survived all three of them in one run.
If you have to go out of your way to get in debt then the game doesn't really have a debt system or punishment. In the old games if you picked OP weapons to breeze through a mission that didn't have good rewards you went in debt.
edit: Also you lost money if you lost the mission and had to start it from the beginning. Wish that was the case here too.
Pretty sure there is an LLM character for that. Rusty too I'm sure.

Which all means if they hid some super-secret Easter egg to the Human+ system from the older games, we may neeeever knoooow...
