Mouse keeps taking over and losing lock
During play while using the controller the mouse will suddenly decide it wants to be the input and take over, throwing my aim skyward. Is there any fix or option for this?
obviously unplugging the mouse, but thats not a solution that is tenable.

SOLUTION:
"So the odd solution to this was not the mouse at all. Turns out the batteries in my controller had leaked acid and started to corrode my controller. It wasn't until i was installing a rechargeable pack into the controller that I realized this.

So I stripped down the controller, cleaned the boards inside with IPA, cleaned off all of the corrosion from the acid leak, and put it all back together. So far the controller has not aimed skyward like it previously was.

None of the traces were corroded or destroyed, but you could clearly see the battery acid and corrosion that had bridged some traces and was gunking up the board.

For other users though, other steps I did to try to solve this was a controller calibration (obviously didnt help) but that did help some others who had the same problem."

Do not move the mouse while locked on. Takes a bit of getting used to, but that's the way it goes...

Had this same problem and I had two solutions, both of which worked well for me;

1. I mapped my weapons to the NumPad so I could use em using my ring middle and index fingers and my camera buttons to the arrow keys so I could control it with my thumb. I lock on to a target and the computer just lets me swivel around the Hard Locked target. This is very good for dueling. In general use the mouse when I am moving around but when engaging in a duel or arena fight, I go full keyboard.

2. I bought a heavy five button mouse, cost me just six dollars US. The size of the mouse and the weight of the battery helps keep it completely stationary so Hard Lock sticks.

I should have specified. when im playing with the controller, the mouse takes lock. even when im not moving it

simplest thing to do is not move your mouse. if you are using a controller you shouldnt be touching your mouse, are you playing on a wobbly table or something?

i got one solution but im not sure if you would like it. use the app reWASD, set up a profile for AC6, have it launch when the game process is running instead of applying it manually, in the mouse remapping mute the mouse. this way it will be disabled when play the game. you could get more technical with the mapping

if you somehow get stuck with the remapping ON you can press ctrl + alt + del and it will disabled the remapping.

me personally i would have 2 layers on the profile tho, one with the mouse working normally, and the other where the mouse is muted or remapped to a controller stick or something. then just press a button to switch it back and forth.

The mouse is not moving. To add validity to this, it always throws it skyward. So even if i put the mouse dead center, where it would have the least amount of effect, it will throw it straight upwards as if ive taken the mouse to the top of the screen every time

Thats not a terrible idea. I was hoping for something like this being native to the game. such as just denying aim input from the mouse. but being able to turn the mouse back on, for things like when im between missions and using my second screen and need my mouse.

Why aren't you using the mouse? You need to join my Cult. We play on PC using the PS Nav(I have 5 lol) and Mouse. :steamhappy:

I started Controller and Mouse Combo back in 2006 to play WoW(R.I.P Logitech Dual Action haha). This is the best iteration of that Combo(Unless Grifta Solo comes back).

If you hate WASD there is hope!

Or their home, like my house, if someone walk thru the room they are playing in the floor shakes everything in the room, with each step.

its probably my subwoofer tbh. but it does even happen when its off. so who knows why my mouse decides it wants to be the input

are you sure its your mouse? i had bad random stick drift before and it would do exactly this but with the left stick swaying directly to the right, i would crash in racing games due to it.

Maybe something is wrong with your mouse? Or your controller? How do you know it’s the mouse?

Does the mouse have a switch off button? If not can you put it upside down or put something heavy on it to prevent movement?

Roll the mouse over
Wakipai Pero #PLAYGG 17. sep. 2023 kl. 7:11
Do you have one of those skeletal mice? Are lights messing with the sensor and causing it to register a jerk-up input? If it's not that your mouse is prolly just faulty and there's nothing you can do barring disabling/unplugging it or getting a new one.

its not a drift. its full blown upwards movement as if im aiming as far upwards as possible.

Unless the controller is going full upwards for no reason. which i doubt it'd do if it was drifting.

also when i turned down the sensitivity on the mouse-specific controls, it dampened the upwards moving considerably
