Who are your top 3 favorite mechanical designers (Mecha Artist)?
Mines are:
Mamoru Nagano is by far my favorite as his designs for Five Star Stories are absolutely gorgeous! I love the Gothicmade redsigns too.

Wataru Inata because I love AC's hardcore, aerodynamic industrial designs (I'm aware AC has more designers but he is the easiest to point to)

Ippei Gyōbu just has this high contrast badass nature to his designs that I dig, a lot.

In my defense, I'm more of a BattleTech man...that said who designed the Kai-variant of the Heavyarms for Endless Waltz? Like the cut of his jib.

Anyway, for me its Izubuchi, Yoji Shinkawa, and Kunio Okawara
I almost always mistake his designs for Kobayashi, sorry Izubuchi.
Legit strange style tho, I swear the Kampfer is like one of the best designed grunt mech ever.

Top 3 favorite mecha designers you say? Had to really think about it, but here's what mostly comes to mind.....

3) Kunio Okawara (Mobile Suit Gundam, Armored Trooper VOTOMS, Blue Comet SPT Layzner, and Metal Armor Dragonar) - He was the very first thing to pop in my mind ever since I first watched Gundam and since then he is one of the names synonymous with 80s retro-futurism, especially with his work on a little known toy line called Spiral Zone

2) Makoto Kobayashi (Mobile Suit ZZ Gundam, Dragon's Heaven, Venus Wars, Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still) - Looking at that man's incredible design work, it's clear he has a thing for bulky, organic looking, weirdly shaped mecha, and there ain't nuttin' wrong with that as the Bound Doc from Zeta Gundam is SEX, his ZZ Gundam is my favorite of his body of work, and his work designing the tanks and monocycles from Venus Wars alongside Kow Yokoyama are the chef's kiss.

1) Shoji Kawamori (Macross, Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Armored Core (duh!)) - The dude has a knack for making aerodynamic mecha that look more so like seraphim and avenging angels, as in the case for my 2nd favorite mecha of all times, that being the White Glint from Armored Core For Answer. That and alongside Okawara, he's known for his 80s retro-futuristic aesthetic (which more than make sense why Armored Core feels like an 80s anime inspired mecha franchise).

Some honorable mentions include Mamoru Nagano (Five Star Stories and Heavy Metal L-Gaim), Junya Ishigaki (Xenogears, AKA: MY FAVORITE THING EVAR), Shinji Aramaki (Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, Megazone 23), Yutaka Izubuchi (Patlabor, Gundam 0080 and Char's Counterattack), Kazumi Fujita (Zeta Gundam, Tyrant Sword of Neofalia), and Takayuki Yanase (Gundam 00, Super Robot Wars W, and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon).

just a small correction Yanase was also part of AC2 and Another Age, along with the Skells of XBCX you can easily guess why Rusty's new unit is an amalgamation of "all" of his designs

as for me, Shouji Kawamori (because DUH!), Kanetake Ebikawa.

I like Five Star Stories, too. But we know what happened. It was very stupid, idiotic.
Is this TOYSPRESS, right?
