no no I mean replaying the mission
Pushing forwards in the plot so more parts in the shop unlock helps a LOT. Gotta have parts you actually want before grinding is worth it, after all.
Also, if you do get this game. The tutorials (that unlock after your first mission, over time ) all come with some free equipment unlocked.
Which range from "Here is a slightly less ♥♥♥♥ FCS chip to get a taste!" to "Here is a shockingly effective UZI", to "Would you like a free grenade cannon with 40 ammo and an explosion the size of a zipcode?"
As a long time player of the series. I don't mind it. After all, there is only so far "I used a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ budget laser rifle and rockets to save money until I can spam machinguns, my beloved" actually goes until it is more bland than deep.
ALSO. in this game, if you die at a checkpoint you can now edit your build. But you can't go shopping during a mission. Which is "why would I have spare parts I am not using?" early on.
Some of my favorite body parts in the game are for sale at the start of the game anyways. arquebus brand torso is rock solid forever if you like power output and no penalties. The arms in particular got some INSANE buffs. Now 2nd best melee in the game without ♥♥♥♥ gun tracking.
The biggest issue with early game parts is the incredibly limited list of early game generators and thrusters. But you can unlock turbo murder weapons while being tough enough to survive a boss nuke without being one-shot ASAP.
(S ranks are only in replays, and don't unlock anything but the cheevo for 'wow you got all S ranks!' in this game. Again, I am one of the older players fine with this change. As funny as other online players not being allowed to use my 100% completion amount of tuning points blueprints in 4 was. What S ranks even got me in the 1-3 days is a distant fever dream of "Phantasma is cooler than nineball, I'm not crazy!")
Either way, you can speed run this mission for a good payout.
While I didn't do much early farming across runs?
3 choppers mission is one of my most played early missions anyways, simply because it is the fastest access to a metal shield MT to test "How fast does this ranged weapon kill them head on when I am in a hurry?"
Patched in later Attache MG is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monster even for a 5,100 weight weapon, on that note.
Not to throw even more misery on test pilot, but when even I can punch them to death with a start of game Arquebus body in a little under that... (the important part is better boosters to cut down the time reaching him)
Again, I say this as a guy who has probably played the helicopter mission more times than people farming it for cash have.
