Been using 8bitdo Ultimate (1st generation) since it came out 3 years ago. It was like 2/3 of single modern game priced.

Pick up a Vader 4 pro. $60-80 for a high quality hall effect controller with 4 back buttons, 2 extra front buttons, and locking triggers. so good.

that is wot i mean by an "expensive controller" lol i mean, i can afford it, but i guess i am just surprised that these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ things are more than 30 bucks haha

I just use a Dual Shock 4. You can find decent condition used ones for cheap, because there are far more casual players of PS4 due to AAA titles not being up to snuff these days or because they legit only bought it to play BD's and F2P's like Fortnight on it. Steam pairs well with it, but you may need a BT 5.1 dongle (you do not need SONY's crummy proprietary dongle).

iirc kb keybinds are in different settings, you can find that instead of guessing the keys.

I did rebind some keys to suit my preference, unfortunately game doesn't understand some specific keys like "["
