And they recently congratulates the game for selling over 3 millions sales: https://www.gematsu.com/2024/07/armored-core-vi-fires-of-rubicon-shipments-and-digital-sales-top-three-million
So nothing official yet, but expectations are high.
From works like valve in waves.
Guess dls in active development.
it is like with er, when they cut miquella ending in dls and melina boss fight and etc
In core case, it is easier, because we know nothing about Ac pilots, PCA and earth at all.
Yeah, I don't know how much plot wise, but a lore vid I watched, the creator used several cut dialogue lines. Mostly arbitrary stuff, but tatters none the less.
It's unfortunate that a lot of stuff is in-between the stuff in-between lol. However, there's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n9eakXNsIQ Yes, a 5+ hour long lore vid, but there's a lot to be had. There's a couple more time-digestive vids, but that guy breaks down everything you wanna know, except the state of the Earth. You'll actually get A LOT lof pilot info.
And hey, there's always wikis :)
Anyone's guess what i'll come off of. Of the three endings, one of them seems pretty "far-removed" to make a direct sequel off of. Another leaves the story as "war drags on." Then there's the typical "let's see what the future brings" ending. So any guess would be based off of what A or B timeline they choose to go off of. They could do the "good ending" and we see what happens when humanity tries to progress with coral. Or on the other hand, they keep the tone gritty, 621 hasn't seen his last battle, we still got work to do.
OR, my personal guess would be that it goes to a new pilot. Could be set after Raven reignited the Fires of Ibis, and someone new has shoes to fill. Could also be the good ending, and we get an expansion focused on coral weapons and concepts. After all, there's the mysterious Branch, maybe playing as one of them is a possibility.
I like to think Raven just checked out in Ending A, got his augments undone, and tried to live a normal life outside of the Rubiconian chaos, or in Ending B, still hanging out with Ayre and go on a grand adventure to uncover the ~true secrets~ of the coral. So if it's a new pilot, I actually think the game would be set before the main story, or perhaps parallel to the events.
Could even make contact with a new C-mutation (Ayre's spirit) just as Father Thumb did originally. So in any case, there's a chance we'll still be rolling with a C-M.
There's the "True Ending", but I don't think it'd make a good scenario to roll with. It's straight-up cosmic, and AC is a bit more grounded in tech-fi. But I dunno, if they wanna make a version where everyone is Rubiconians embodied into ACs then I won't argue.
In short; I hope we either get a parallel timeline, or a prequel.
I want a balance overhaul with a deep look at the stagger breaking mechanic.
I want more pvp options like point capture, king of the hill, capture the flag or other objective based modes, as i believe that would help bring more build diversity.
I'd also like to see a return of the debt system, though I think it made total sense to omit it from 6 if only because of the circumstance of the player character being more "hound" (indentured servitude) than "mercenary" (self employment) working for Walter as opposed to being on their own financially. The player character "earned all the credits" as Walter said - but that's not why they're on Rubicon... and besides - the player is "human plus" (C-pulse augmented) from the get-go - perhaps a result of getting into debt before ever meeting Walter.
Maybe AC 6.5 can take a more classical approach to the merc-for-hire formula as it has been in many of the old games. The player character in 6 is essentially nameless (though they earn many nicknames) and faceless, though they still have more characterization than any previous equivalent. I wonder if that sets the tone moving forward, or is itself an exception.
Ngl debt was only an issue if you weren't very good or not loading after a failed mission.
I could see that just being a faction within the game. It's not even that lore odd for the series when you consider hustler one in the first game was an AI running multiple mechs at the same time. The biggest thing would be exploring them more deeply to make them come across as more of simply a different species via them inhabiting robot bodies at human scale rather than only at AC scale. It's not really all that different from the enhanced human plus members who can't really function outside of their AC either.
I could see it working out with the lore and tone of the game if they make the right moves.
