So, about that not too long ago "Gave this game another shot"
I have already beaten all 3 endings, NG+3 down, now I guess i just have all S Ranks. Still missing some achievements, though.

Overall I think I enjoyed this game! It just feels as if there's maybe some questionable balance choices, and I wish NORMAL enemies were like... an actual threat, rather than the game mainly funnelling you to a boss fight.

A lot of the trash mobs are a threat. The issue is there isn't enough of them to be a threat. Not to mention we can just ignore them to progress. Aside from that, it would be bad game design forcing players hardship leading to a boss fight.

I'm not sure I entirely agree! Most of the trash mobs go down in 1-3 assault rifle shots, do very little damage, and are *very* easy to dodge.
Genuinely the only hard non-boss enemies I can think of are the stealth units, the Tetrapod MTs, and... maybe a few others? But most are still a non-issue. And maybe some of the LCs/HCs, if HC's even count as 'non-boss' enemies.
Granted, some of those stop being hard once you know how to deal with them (Tetrapod MT's stop being able to do anything if you just jump over them.)

I think they could make more interesting levels where enemies are actually dangerous and pose a threat. It's entirely possible. Plus, they already do the thing where "We're sorta expecting the player to be low on resources here, so we want to give you a full restock for the boss"
There's... a lot of ways they could do it differently.

In older armored core games, they were a much bigger threat as you could not get more ammo or health, so you had to pick your fights carefully.

AC 6 is a great action game, but a fairly bad armored core game.

I like the game, but yeah, normal enemies are a joke as a result the missions themselves are too, only bosses or sub bosses require any effort.

Yes the early game, most enemy are just target practice. Then there's those spinning wheel thingy. A few HC with pulse armor. And some flyers that seems to be out of reach most of the time. The big difference between bosses and trash mobs is the fact that trash mobs have lower health plus it's very easy to stagger them. Use a mod that gives trash mobs more health with no stagger meter and you got yourself an annoying mission.

I think this is the main criticism a lot of us have with this entry. Everything else is amazing combat wise but the normal MT's are so weak that you cannot experience the "dance" this game offers with it's combat whilst fighting them.

There are the stronger units that allows us to experience such (HC etc.) and the game feels great there. And to illustrate my point, the rubicon inferno mod basically turn's AC6 into what it more or less needs, in it's current state, for veteran players. More ACs/heavy MT's during combat and if there are weaker MTs, there is a f u c k load of them.

Just remind me, those heavy coral wheelchair things though......
Also I'm pretty sure there are mods to enhance normal enemies, you can try check them out.
