ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES OF RUBICON™

Statistiche:
Hard Lock with mouse and keyboard
It took me some hundreds of hours of PvP gameplay to realize that Hard Lock doesn't work with mouse and keyboard - unless you keep your mouse completely still, good luck with that. I almost lost my sanity trying to understand why PvP gameplay videos show targets locked and tracked while my lock always breaks down. I am announcing to the AC 6 community that I DO HAVE A CONTROLLER and will now start practicing from scratch and get back to PvP to achieve rank S (now stuck in rank A) before the reset in May. To all those people who exploited me because I was dumb enough to not realize I was playing without Hard Lock, I promise that I will get revenge. You are all held accountable for my wrecked bedroom door which was the receiver of my rage and frustration. See you in the nest.

The trick here is that hardlock or softlock won't make lightweights viable in close quarters. Even during peak BVO era we still didn't have a BVO build actually *win* a tournament, was always killed off by a heavier build up close at some point. Vientos have since been nerfed, practically killing the BVO style competitively. There's some people who try and use lights that run "touch of death" combos where you can hit an enemy once with a ministagger and combo it into a full stagger and punish off that but those still get pranked by particularly heavy builds such as tanks or by things with shields, which are very common in the meta at the moment, or just merely outplayed because the setup for combo makes them predictable and less adaptable than other builds.

Lights are good at kiting, that's what they do, that's their niche. You can try to play in cqc with them but you're just throwing away all the advantages lights have to do so and driving right into close range against more durable opponents that *want* you to be right next to them so they can crunch you.
Just look up Oroboro on YT. That's the kind of gameplay I want to master. I have had my time with a heavy tank build, although I cruised my way up to rank A, It really felt like cheesing. So Oroboro climbed up to rank S playing lightweight melee builds, I find the stagger/finish with melee style so cool that I want to master it. So of course this kind of style is not unbeatable but don't say you can't have success with it, by success I mean rank S, that's my personal goal before I consider backing up from the game for a while. (What a masterpiece by the way).

I was in oro's stream a few times while he was at it. He was playing BVO before it got nerfed though. That said, I'm comparing more to tournament players, ramenrook and sillygoose tend to be the main BVO players in tournaments. Ramen has swapped into kiting since the bvo nerf, sillygoose is trying to take up the mantle.

I suppose if your goal is just climbing to S then you can get up there with BVO, getting into top 100 on S would be rough, as would tournament level play. Oh, also, BVO, if you don't know the acronym, is "basho, viento, ocellus", as a type of build using vientos to stagger and a blade to punish.

I really don't see how PvP is "dead on arrival"

Because AC6 is already struggling to maintain even the bare minimum player count to support any kind of online experience, let alone a PvP one; and on top of that a competitive one?

I'm sorry, I love this game too; but you're hopelessly naive if you think online play won't be a ghost town in a year or so.

There are only 1,200 people playing AC6 right now, what percentage of those do you think would be playing PvP online? Maybe 10%? And that's being very generous imo. So 120 people playing online? You can't have a healthy online community with barely a hundred people, a number which; is only going to continue to dwindle over time.

I'm fine if they continue to focus on the SP components instead of PvP.

I don't think anyone's delusional to be thinking this game is gonna be having super high player counts a year from now outside of dlcs coming out that bring people back around and expansions. That said, we really don't need huge amounts of players, pvp is perfectly healthy as is at the moment. There's multiple discords focused on pvp and the competitive scene, there's thousands of people even in the top tier of ranked, tournaments get good turn outs even when prizes aren't offered, we even have 3v3 tournaments going.

I don't play PvP but that is good to know.

I myself that there are healthy RTS small scenes that have population around thousands at best like SupCom FA.

Always love those tight knit community because it's less about the money but having fun instead.

Yeah same, I'm used to a lot of RTS communities, always comfy.
Old gen AC games still have active dedicated PvP communities, AC6 will be fine.

Your Armored Core must be built from Copium lol.

I don't care how many they play as long as I am not in limbo waiting for matchmaking. Match times are INSTANT.

The camera and locking system is objectively terrible, there's no excusing it. On controller its pretty bad, and m&kb it is worthless. If you want to use the "hard lock", then you can't use your mouse.

But its nice to see every thread in this forum no matter the subject is just obnoxious pvpers just coping.

Why are you so oddly fixated on saying the game is dead and dying and complaining about a game becoming less popular a year after it's been out... which like every game ever is less popular a full year after it's been out?
