Paired that with the extremely satisfying and complex combat, you will have a good time.
If you like the combat that is. Remember this is very different from other Fromsoftware's recent titles but it has that difficulty. So I'd reckon trying it out if you're interested
After the story there is pvp. That's it.
You have arena missions.
1 playthrough with multiple choices.
A 2nd playthrough where you can make the other set of choices to go down a different story path with a second end boss.
More arenas open up.
After clearing both story paths, you open up a very different set of options for a 3rd ending with a 3rd story boss.
Even more arena fights open up.
After that, you can replay every mission to try for S ranks for the 100%.
There are hidden log files that you can track down in various missions.
There are weapons hidden in levels that you have to find.
Then if you feel so inclined, you can also play PvP.
I have 131 hours played in it myself.
It may take more than three runs through the game to get the three endings if not following a mission path guide.
It is possible to run the three endings and not have touched all of the missions IIRC.
As you progress through the missions you unlock a few features such as the shop, arena, and the online PvP (NEST}. Part additions to the shop and arena opponents are tied into mission progression -you gain a few more additions in small clusters as you steadily progress.
The parts that were added in patch 1.05 are unlocked after varying levels of mission progression. The condition for unlocking them are tied to completing a specific mission in Chapter Two and another in Chapter Three respectively.
There are also (chest/container sealed) hidden parts in some of the missions, combat logs to be collected with part rewards based on the number collected, and OST Tuning chips when you defeat arena enemies.
*OST Tune boosts to weapon attack powers, ac defenses, and repair kits, only apply to the AC when playing missions. The functions for Weapon Bays, (assault) Boost Kick, Manual Aim, Tuick Turn, Over Weight Weapon Jettisoning, and the four expansion shield options are the only OST tuning features that apply in PvP combat.
**You will have enough OST Tuning Chips by the very end of having seen all of the endings and having beaten the arena ACs to activate all of the OST Tune options completely should you wish -but you will have to sacrifice some COAM to reset the tunings if, for instance, you decided that Quick Turn, Boost Kicking, or Weapon Jettison functions are triggering or behaving weirdly (such as controller too sensitive and not wanting to remap the buttons).
Once a mission is completed once, you can immediately go back and re-do the mission in a mission replay section that is separate from the story missions progression section. There-in, technically there is infinite replay-ability to the PvE.
If you wanted to re-experience the game from the restrictions to parts and features having been locked off again, you will need to sacrifice your current file that has done everything. This game only allows for one active file at a time. There is a pop-up prompt when trying to start a new game if there is a file that should be continued that details this.
There is nothing but an achievement to obtain at the moment if you feel compelled to S rank all of the missions.
The majority of players will advise you against the PvP aspects as there are connection related issues, issues caused by the ways that Ranked PvP has been implemented, and low and dwindling player counts at the lower ranks. Ranked PvP has made unranked play an absolute ghost town. If you really want to experience PvP at this point, it would be best to join a community discord to work out with members of the community when to establish a lobby -as most keep to private lobbies as to prevent random players joining in who may want to run kite or meta builds in ways to troll on the lobby players if it were otherwise set to public.
