Since the start of 2024, the game has averaged between 2000 and 3000 players, peaking at 5800 in February.
You may just be unlucky in the time zones and all that. I took a look at the PvP state a few weeks ago. There were maybe half a dozen active rooms with several players in them. It was also in the realm of 1am-3am (US time zones).
I'm starting to believe that more, it sucks because Ranked PvP looks really fun, I enjoyed the few matches that I had, but I was always put up against people in much higher ranks than me, even seeing a few S-Ranks here and there yesterday when I actually got in a match,
Today was just barren, 30 minutes of sitting here waiting for a match.
PS - Most of JP buys SONY or Nintendo consoles because of nationalism. Microsoft and Apple PCs are not a widely adopted way of gaming in Japan. If you wanted player base, likely should have gone with the PS4 or PS5 copy or in addition to buying the steam copy. Kinda got shafted on the hopes we could mod ACVI out of the gate via the Steam copy, granted the EAC matters and what some had reported in regards to being EAC banned even after reverting all their modding prior to trying to resume the PvP content fairly.
before the rank reset it never took me longer than 5 seconds to find a player
FS needs to learn how to intelligently balance (lol Therapist) and make something more than just barebones deathmatch and TDM. Don't get me wrong those modes are fun but it gets old quick when that's all there is to choose from.
Currently ever few weeks I'll spend an afternoon doing ranked (team ranked does seem to be dead but it usually only takes me a minute or two to find 1v1) or some custom matches but by the end of the night I'm bored again and I go back to SP or play something else.
I was more going off common consensus from what I be seeing on here and what is most likely the cause of the PvP's decline other than the hit detection and overall lack of content.
