Mouse and keyboard
So is this game good using mouse and keyboard, or is gamepad preferred 🤔

the controller that you're more comfortable with. I prefer Controller myself, but KBM isn't hard to adapt to.

I used mouse and keyboard 100% of the time.
I just lift the mouse for autolocking.

With a mouse, you should not need auto locking anyway, and you get better auto-targeting accuracy when you don't hard-lock on anyway.

There are certain weapons that are harder to use on mouse and keyboard, as you have to hold down a key/mouse button to charge them while still performing a lot of other actions, but I think i still prefer mouse and keyboard due to not having to use a joystick for the camera. Buttery smooth mouse camera movement is much better, but it is a decision you should make for yourself.

Keyboard and mouse has the higher skill cap. It's harder to adjust to but once you train your hand to remain still when using lock assist for hard lock, it's definitely the better option because you have way more control for when you're not using lock assist, and are soft locking the enemy. I can't speak to how much controller aim assist helps with this but usually unless the controller aim assist is op, KBM has the advantage. I use KBM.

I bought the game last night, and tried it for the first time this morning before work. M/k is amazing. It fits me fantastic. And also. The game is going straight to my top 10 list of all time. 😍

I personally have only played mouse and keyboard on this game, but it works great for me. I am only early second chapter and just started playing the game. I so far have been playing on the fastest mech build allowed and it has been incredibly fun to play. I have played controller before and the thought of trying to keep up with my build sounds painful. As for the weapons one needs to charge, it is only a minor inconvenience for me.

Jammer with manual aim counters a ton of things in PvP so yeah K+M is pretty chad.

I have played many games on the series using controllers, so I am very used to that.

Despite this, I gave mouse and keyboard a go. I can say that despite not being what I am used to, the control definitely feels good, it clicked in comfortably in just a few minutes practicing.

I still play with the controller, but I definitely keep my my mouse and keyboard at reach for manual aim sometimes :fhappy:

Super handy when you want to manually place certain AoE attacks at a range, or snipe with the linear rifles at ranges exceeding FCS lock.
