On the flip side, bullet-based firearms tend to NOT overheat when fired rapidly, so there's that.
Literally carrying every player. Unacceptable.
I will say I've had alot more luck against laser cannons and heavy laser rifles when I'm playing a light build. Just feels bad on the flip side when a beefy 37% EN resist AC gets shredded.
Lasers will still miss 99% of the shots against mobile targets even with the best arms and FCS supposedly for being marksman, which feeds back into people only praying to charged laser jesus.
Dual wielding a normal laser cannon on a tank they can fire a lot of timers in a row before overheat, but they will keep missing even the most lackluster player build, and when they hit do basically ♥♥♥♥ all leading to people praying for charged shots instead with heavier damage. And the shoulder/hand shotgun lasers because of spread suffer against my lights for normal shots. Which again leads back to people praying for charged shot hits. The 3 barrel is absurdly heavy.
New laser cannon has a less insane weight for a weapon that deals less joke damage than the basic at range, and people still have to rely on praying a charged shot hits rather than tickle damage from the basic shots even vs staggered.
Laser "Pistol" gets more use because while it can still suffer "So your scudder/turner combo can't even hit a tank on the ground that is not quickboosting" issues beyond slapping range, they have closer to rifle ranges making them easier for high speed gunslinging. They do not suffer "oops deflected because you were outside of 80, ♥♥♥♥ you for trying" like basic handguns (this is why people think the needle pistols are "op", their damage is trash, their impact is weak, but they have 100 ideal range so won't bounce off my elcano balsa wood light build).
The base issues are all down to "Actually it is a cartoon slapfight where even a pair of lights spamming missiles and/or laser can struggle to hit eachother unti the buzzer".
AC weapons are designed to miss you first (so the game isn't unwinnable), hit weak fodder second. And all the speed buffs to lights/nerds to heavies just make that gap even wider. And even then it relies on essentially cheats for the AI, I doubt any of you are nailing the amount of 200+ distance scudder shots nightfall does with the cheapest close range combat chip he is supposedly equipped with.
Dude, you have NASA internet or something...But even then lazer is 90% hit rate at close range and 50% hit rate at mid range regardless of your reaction/dodge, that's literally why the entire community whining. Their fast projectile speed also contribute to this.
And needle gun can insta stagger people with AB, 1.5 clip to stagger a light weight and 2 full clip a mid weight. It's basically on par with zimmer.

As a light I given up counting the clips I could put in a compilation titled "lasers I dodged on my screen that hit me for full damage"
Laser pistol spam at short range can be strong and hard to pressure for my low AP build... but that makes sense since bad matchup.
What I cannot stand is those tank leg zoomming around faster than my light spamming those shoulder mounted monstrosities like... what the hell.
It feels like right now you are either Quad leg missile spam on the skybox or lag-fueled big laser dude on a sports wheelchair and it stinks.
They made bazookas defender sided and it was a loved change, now they just need to make lasers the same way. I wonder what would happen if most things became defender sided....

Yeah both types of tanks feel super unfun to fight with most builds right now and I don't have a suggestion on what to do about it.
