So if you disliked the hard bosses, on the souls games, this game is similar to that, but that's mostly it, everything else is it's own thing. i don't think it's the hardest From game though, at least compared to Sekiro or Elden Ring.
If a boss is stomping you out, you can just reload the checkpoint right before the fight and even redo your entire mech before loading back in if you want to try out a new build.
However, do not allow your experience with AC6 serve as your foundation for all the franchise has to offer. AC6 is as bare bones as Armored Core gets. Thus, it is far from being my favorite in the whole series. In fact, I think it's the second or third worst of all the titles I've played, which is all but two of them, counting Formula Front. The difference, to me, is that AC6 is an action title with customization slapped in, while classic titles were about customization and the action served as your stress test. But despite my generally negative opinion of AC6, it is still a superior game compared to most of the mainstream tripe available today.
If you've never played another game that gives you 3 dimensions of movement with a great variation of speeds (souls let you move in 2 dimensions, Mario effectively has 1 dimension, both at one speed) it will take some getting used to. That is barrier 1.
Barrier 2 is becoming accustom to the long list of parts and their stats. I hope you like reading and surfing menus to compare numbers in your video games.
Most missions themselves are pathetically easy. You will be living high on a power fantasy. The difficulty spikes at varying magnitudes when you get into a boss fight. This is one of the game's biggest flaws: its jarring pacing. You will get stuck on a boss at some point after a streak of easy missions. When that happens, that is your cue to change up your approach.
The game will punish you hard when you make mistakes, like not paying attention to your energy gauge. But it's very lenient and forgiving by attaching training wheels to your training wheels in the form of hardlock, checkpoints, repair kits, and an easily abused stagger system. You will never feel like you're at risk of failing anything at any time. You can retry missions infinitely at no cost to you. Ammo and repair costs are negligible, they are there because of tradition. You will be rolling in so much money that by the end of NG++ you will have millions of credits and nothing to spend them on.
