Yikes tho that is indeed a confusing situation to be in.
If publisher hell was a concern there would be a compilation in Japan at least since From is publisher too there.
FWIW, I do support the idea of an anthology release and ports.
NA, EU and australia
Sony owns the AC1 license worldwide so they are free to put it into any PS platform they chose to distribute
here where things get crazy AC:PP is licensed by ASCII Entertainment (sub of new Kadokawa and the former name of agetec),
MoA-Last Raven is by agetec (largely NA)
AC2 is licensed by Ubisoft for EU its expansion another age is owned by Metro3D
story largely goes the same for AC3 (agetec for NA, Metro3D for EU)
for Silent Line agetec was the distributor for NA and EU this lasts till Nexus
Formula Front has Agetec for NA, 505 games for EU, Red Ants entertainment for AU (land down under ay?) the PS2 version was never officially localized so thats free game
Ninebreaker to Last Raven has 505 Games for EU distribution this marks the end of 3rd gen shenanigans
AC4 is licensed by Sega (505 for EU), its expansion ACfA is licensed by Ubisoft (world wide)
marks the end of 4th gen
5th gen is easier cause licensed for intl release is controlled by BAMCO (ACV-ACVD)
all AC games however are distributed by From Software in Japan, and the gen 3 portable games (AC3P,AC:SLP,AC:LRP)
just to remind everyone agetec is largely to this day a defunct company we do not know how ♥♥♥♥♥ the scenario is due to this
which largely means if From Soft will make a mega AC compilation it will most likely than not be region locked to Steam Japan (basically Ciel noSurge by K-T) and will be in Japanese only.
but the games available to the market would be the portable "mainline games" as they are translated
I wonder if there are some ways to solve this issue, either Bamco or From somehow re-buying all the licenses.
