Poor little thing, she had no idea whom she was messing with:

Guess S ranking this is going to be a breeze. I liked the kick that triggered the second phase and would have frikking loved to end the fight with another kick but i guess the damn controller just had different plans. Had me just stand still there looking like an idiot for a second. Was still able to zap her to death but i'm sad as it would have looked great to just kick her and then unload a kill shot.

Anyway, i like this ending. 621 just exterminated an entire planet and is now probably chilling on some tropical island with Walter, patting each other on the back for having saved "humanity" even though it involved killing a whole planet. Hell yeah, nothing like morally justified genocide.

So far i would rank this game a 8/10 by FromSoft standards and a 9/10 by current industry standard (i would never rate a game 10/10 as i don't believe a perfect game can actually exist. Dark Souls came close but then Lost Izalith etc). Gameplay is smooth as ♥♥♥♥ and addicting as hell. Can't really complain there from a sheer technical point of view the game is a masterpiece. But aside for the excellent gameplay there are some flaws. The music is well made (it's actually quite interesting technically even if it doesn't sound like it at first hearing) but lacks the necessary presence for a game like this. Would have fit an atmospheric RPG perfectly but in a game where everything is exploding all the time it just got buried under the sound effects. Lack of a debt system, lack of weaponry compared to the previous entries, and the fact the game is a bit on the easy side compared to the other FromSoft games (though it is still challenging in its own right) are also somewhat disappointing but some of those issues can be fixed by a DLC. Ho, and while i thought the missions were in the main pretty good i would have loved if they had been more intense or more complex. Again, this might be a thing the DLC might fix.

Lastly, i also found there's some lack of balance in that some weapons are just so good as to make everything else redundant. I'm not saying every single bit of arsenal should be equally as powerful as the other but i just felt too much of the gear you get didn't seem to matter a whole much, but perhaps that impression may change if i start using said gear.

All in all a great game and something FromSoft needed to do anyway to break the mold they go stuck into with Dark Souls. I love Souls as much as the next guy and i hope they keep making them but something different HAD to be released. Another Souls after Elden Ring would have just been ridiculous.

[EDIT] Out of popular demand, the ubiquitous ass rank video, now featuring something i've never seen used by anyone ever, a shield:

Tr00 Souls right there.

Fair enough, changed the title. All though at this point i'm sure most people already know.

I'm sure you probably already know, but you're not done yet -- on Rubicon, the end is only just the beginning.

I think people tend to be a bit too negative because everything has to be constantly edgy and controversial.

Like i said, by FromSoft standards, the game is a solid 8/10. Gameplay is excellent, presentation is good (FromSoft were always known for their art direction more than their graphics so that it's running on an old engine wasn't a problem for me), campaign was of reasonable size despite the initial misgivings about the size of the missions (in the original AC missions were small because of the debt system. I think they could have afforded to expand on them since they took that out here but i'm not complaining. They weren't badly designed).

As for the stagger system, i didn't mind that either, all though it was a bit annoying at times to get staggered because of unavoidable chip damage. This game could definitely benefit from some balance improvements but i think mechanically it's a perfectly complete and well refined package.

Is it an earth shattering masterpiece? No, but then i don't get why people allow themselves to be influenced by hype so much. No game is perfect. Not even Dark Souls was perfect. Elden Ring certainly wasn't perfect. Doesn't mean those games can't be great and worth your money.

And speaking of Elden Ring. I played over a 1000 hours of that and the fact this ISN'T Souls isn't an irrelevant factor. I think FromSoft was smart in releasing this right after Elden Ring. If they had announced another Souls-like game i feel people would have given them a ton of crap and accuse them of being incapable of doing anything else. A lot of people actually did that with Elden Ring itself.

The game is made for controllers.

You might as well complain playing an FPS with keyboard and mouse is not "valid" because keyboard and mouse make shooters so much easier to play.

Of course, i don't see anything preventing someone from then complaining that using two hands instead of one is also "not" valid.
