Spoilers - what happened to Little Ziyi?

We have 2 missions with her - one beating her in the info gathering mission (not necessary for the mission to be completed), one rescuing her with the chopper

Just want to be clear on the order of these missions, I know they happen after Wallclimber.

Do we beat her first or do we rescue her first? I'm thinking the former, that's why she's captured by Arquebus and put into camp.

Question to your question, can we even unlock the data collection mission path that has us fighting her at all if we ran the transport rescue? I ask because I don't think I've seen it since unlocking NG+, but at the same time I kept taking the RLF's offer in the dam mission since...which might be railroading me into the transport copter path.

You will see that in mission in NG and you can replay it once you got over it.
But yeah, it might be unique to NG or without you doing the betraying G4 and G5 path.

So I'm not crazy then. Could be that even if we don't run the rescue, the RLF manages without us or hires a different mercenary/internally, so the timeline still matches when Ziyi does fight us.

I'm thinking it like this:
1. Wallclimber happens, maximum RLF casualty, but Ziyi didn't join the carnage.
2. The gathering info mission happens, she goes to check for survivor and get beaten/captured by you/Arquebus.
3. The escort chopper happens, and you/the RLF rescues her. Happy ever after.

OR.
2. She's already captured by Arquebus before, and the rescue happens first.
3. After she rests a bit, she goes to Wallclimber site to check for survivor, and meets you and you kill/beat her.

I'm thinking the 1st scenario makes more sense and is more realistic I guess.

I think in the second replay you can read her log said she tried to warn RLF that Corporate is going to pit Rusty with 621. Which is why Middle Flatwell arrived, though doing jack all.

That isn't Depth 2, that's Investigate the Pursuer after you have done Depth 3.
Are you sure that's Ziyi? I mean, she uses a generic Basho loadout so it can be anything.

That isn't Depth 2, that's Investigate the Pursuer after you have done Depth 3.

It can be anyond with the Basho (which is the RLF standard AC and it is surprisingly good despite how outdated it is). Given that most of her peers did not want her to fight anymore, I doubt that they will allow her to deploy at an unknown territory.

Yep, this is the mission I mention in the OP, problem is, it can happen BEFORE the Escort helicopter mission where you help save her.
